Chapter 594
Genevieve was hurting so much that her breathing was starting to get uneven. She was also starting to feel giddy and had almost lost her balance but steadicd herself by leaning against a gurney next to her.
Timothy quickly helped her to the couch to sit down. “Are you feeling all right?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m fine.” After her train of thought was disrupted, Genevieve’s heart seemed to hurt less as she stopped thinking about the man. Then, she took out a bottle of pills from her bag.
“Can I take a look?” Timothy noticed the woman’s pale expression and wanted to see what pills she was taking
After Genevieve passed the bottle to him, the man saw the description on the bottle and rcalized that it was medicine to relieve chest pain. It was a commonly seen medicine in pharmacies.
“Are you having chest pains?”
“Mm.” Genevieve answered before elaborating. “I’ve had it for a long time. It only acts up occasionally, though.”
Timothy was aware that the doctors had examined Genevieve back in Dartan, but they were unable to find anything wrong with her heart. The pills were also given to her by the doctors in Dartan.
However, Timothy was still worried. As such, he contacted Jermaine to ask him to do a body checkup for Genevieve.
Genevieve went to look for Jermaine with her ECG report. After examining the report, Jermaine said, “Your heart activity seems pretty normal.”
“I already told Timothy that it’s just a small issue, but he insisted that I do another checkup,” Genevieve replied helplessly before continuing, “Sorry to disturb you.”
“I’m not busy anyway.”
Jermaine snuck a glance at Genevieve’s side profile as he walked her out of his office. He opened his mouth to say somcthing but hesitated.
Just when he decided to speak, the phone in his pocket rang.
“Carry on with your work. You don’t have to send me downstairs.” Genevieve waved to the man before entering the elevator.
After the elevator door closed, Jermaine took out his phone. A complicated glint appeared in his Cyes wlien he saw the number on the caller ID, but he still ended up answering.
On the morning of the twenty-eighth, Genevieve, Cooper, and a few others took a private jet to Baykcep.
After Armand died, other than Central Group, which was acquired by Earlgrandeur Capital
Corporation, the rest of his assets were taken over by Cooper, including his mansion and private jet.
When Jane returned with freshly-brewed coffee, she saw Cooper looking out of the window with one hand propped up on his chin. The man seemed to be deep in thought.
Jane sat down next to him and put her arms around his waist.
Cooper retracted his gaze and hugged Janc before kissing the top of her head. “Do you get chest pains when you travel on the plane?”
Cooper had considered traveling via train because of Jane’s health condition. However, Jane found it too troublesome to take the train with the long waiting and travel times. It was much more convenient to take a planc instcad.
Jane shook her head and answered, “It’s just slightly more than an hour. How about you? A penny for your thoughts?”
“I’m just thinking of some stuff.”
As Genevieve was watching a movie in the home theatre on the private jet, Cooper and Jane were alone. As such, Cooper could speak his mind without any reservations.
Cooper asked, “Why do you think Armand had left all of his assets to me?”
Jane pondered for a moment before replying, “Maybe you’re the only one he trusts. Besides, you’re also Gency’s brother.”
“I don’t think so,” Cooper replied, stroking the woman’s long hair. “Judging by the fact that he had prepared his will beforehand, I think he knew he was going to die.”
Jane looked at at the man with a puzzled expression.
Cooper continued, “From my understanding of Armand, given how much he loved Genev and wanted to be with her, he would never do anything if he knew that it would cost him his life…”
Taking a pause, he carried on, “But I had verified his body personally.”
