Chapter 801
Harry lifted his right hand, and it was as if he could still feel the warmth in his palm. He then clenched his fist to try to keep the warmth there.
After that, he whipped out his phone from under his pillow and made a call.
The next morning, right after Genevieve ordered takeout, Amanda called and grumbled, “Mommy, didn't you say you were going to have a picnic with Lucian and me? You can't go back on your word like Daddy.”
“Uncle Cooper will bring you guys, okay?” Genevieve comforted Amanda. “I need to take care of a patient.”
“Will you abandon Lucian and me and run away?”
Genevieve was amused. “No. Once the patient feels better and doesn't need me, I'll come back and make it up to you guys, okay?’
"All right, then.”
After the call ended, the food arrived. Genevieve brought the food to the hospital to visit Harry. When she arrived, he was already awake, and he looked better than the night before.
“Hi, Genevieve,” Harry greeted. His hair beside his temples was curled up, and he looked rather cute.
Genevieve raised the hospital bed, took out the broth she ordered for him, and blew on it before feeding it to him. “Harry, do you remember how you rode the motorcycle?” she asked tentatively.
“I do.” Harry swallowed the food in his mouth and continued, “That day, I was riding the motorcycle along Riverdale Street. There, I saw a luxurious car driving fast, and it suddenly ramped into the guardrail and crashed. I quickly called the emergency hotline. I wanted to go over to see if the driver was okay, but I didn't know there was oil on the road. My motorcycle skidded, and I fell.”
Harry's story was the same as what the police said. The authorities said that they did receive a call. So it was Harry who called them.
Harry looked surprised. “Have the police not found him yet?”
“Not yet. They found his car, and that's it.” Genevieve thought Harry would see something after he had fallen off the slope. He should've seen Armand, but he didn't...
At that point, Genevieve was getting more and more anxious because they still couldn't fmd Armand.
Before leaving the hospital, Genevieve employed a nurse to look after Harry. However, less than three hours later, she received a call from the nurse saying that Harry was refusing to eat, and his condition was worsening.
Genevieve got the nurse to pass the phone to Harry. Letting out a sigh, she said to him, “Harry, how are you going to get better if you don't eat?”
“Genevieve, you told me you would be here to keep me company for a few days, no? In the end, you left in the morning. Is it because... I'm no longer useful to you?” Harry grumbled.
