My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley) novel Chapter 155

Chapter 155

The fabric used for the product was scarce, possibly an attempt by the seller to maximize profit. It barely covered certain parts, causing Esther to blush as she examined her reflection in the full-length mirror.

After selecting a beautifully designed cotton pajama dress for herself, Esther tidied her hair and made her way to Felix’s room. Inside, Bradley was blow-drying Felix’s damp hair.

Upon hearing Esther’s voice, Felix eagerly emerged from the bathroom and embraced her.

“Mommy, can I sleep between you and Daddy tonight? Please?” Felix pleaded, his hair still damp.

Bradley coldly rejected the request, saying, “No.”

“But Mommy, I’ve never slept with both of you before,” Felix complained pitifully. “I used to sleep alone, and I was so scared!”

Esther had no reservations when it came to Felix. Seeing his pitiful expression, she turned to Bradley and implored, “Darling, let him sleep with us tonight! Please!

“Daddy, please!” Felix chimed in, adding to the pleas.

Confronted with the two pitiful faces before him, Bradley reluctantly acquiesced. “Just for one night?”

Felix joyfully exclaimed, “Thank you, Daddy! Love you, cross my heart!”

Bradley sighed, feeling exasperated by Felix’s dramatic behavior.

Esther took Felix’s hand and spoke softly. “Darling, I’ve prepared the bath. Go take a bath, and Felix and I will choose a book to read together.”

Esther and Felix selected a storybook that was suitable for all three of them to enjoy.

Meanwhile, Bradley made his way to the bathroom, where his clean clothes were already prepared. The fragrance of peaches filled the air.

After taking a shower and stepping out of the bathroom, Bradley found Esther and Felix engrossed in the story. They had intentionally saved a space for him. The electric curtains remained open, revealing the distant city lights that resembled a dazzling sea of stars.

“Daddy,” Felix called out.

Bradley, dressed in his pajamas, sat next to Felix and joined them in reading the storybook. However, Felix, being a tired child after a day full of activities, fell asleep in Esther’s arms before they could finish

the book.

Esther gazed at Felix’s adorable sleeping face and couldn’t resist kissing his cheek gently. With a tender smile, she turned to Bradley and said, “Darling, our son is so cute!”

Bradley looked at Felix, peacefully slumbering, and then at Esther, who radiated a warm maternal glow. He softly agreed, “He’s truly well-behaved and adorable.”

In the past, when Felix had to receive injections while sick, he never complained about the pain. Bradley recalled other children at the pediatrician’s office throwing tantrums, rolling on the floor, and adamantly refusing to get their shots. Their parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents would resort to coaxing and deceiving, making promises of various rewards, until the children reluctantly complied with the adults’ instructions.

Felix, on the other hand, never displayed such behavior. At most, he would silently endure the pain and shed a few tears.
