Chapter 262
The night view was enchanting, adorned with effervescent neon lights, a unique sight that Ben beheld from inside the helicopter. The countless sparkling lights of households resembled scattered stars on Earth, casting a dazzling and radiant glow.
Unaware of the peril that lay ahead, Ben curiously admired the beauty outside the helicopter’s cabin window. Eventually, the helicopter descended and landed on a ship amidst the vast sea.
The ocean within a 50-mile radius, centered around the ship, was brightly illuminated, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle. The rescue team members tirelessly searched for Felix, diving time after time, and embarked on search dives without giving up.
Esther and her group disembarked from the helicopter, and the sea breeze tousled Esther’s hair while her cotton nightgown billowed like a raised sail.
Observing the rescue personnel with air tanks scouring the sea’s surface, Ben couldn’t help but ask, “What are they searching for?”
With sorrow welling up in her eyes, Esther sobbed. “They are searching for my son.”
Startled, Ben inquired, “Your son?”
Esther reached for her phone’s photo album and tearfully showed him a picture of Felix. She explained, “This is my son. He fell into the sea and is now missing.”
Observing Felix’s photo on Esther’s phone screen, Ben asked dryly, “How did such a young child end up in the sea? Did your enemies seek revenge against you?”
Ben couldn’t fathom how someone could target such a young child-it was truly despicable!
Bradley snapped his fingers, and finally, the two kidnappers, who had been immersed in the seawater for a long time, were pulled up. Their skin had turned pale and wrinkled from the prolonged exposure to the sea.
“Mr. Warner, please, I was wrong…”
“Mr. Warner, there’s a reason behind all this. We were only following Shane Hoyer’s orders…”
Upon hearing the kidnappers’ words, Ben’s face darkened, and he questioned, “What nonsense are you spouting? My father would never do such things!”
“Your father?” The kidnappers looked at the boy, shivering from the cold sea breeze. Their faces and lips had turned blue and purple. “Your father is Shane Hoyer?”
“Yes, my father is Shane Hoyer,” Ben replied indignantly. “He is an honest and kind man. He would never instruct you to do something immoral!”
“Hoyer Jr., you are truly ignorant and fearless due to your father’s protection!” The kidnappers sat slumped on the deck, attempting to expose Shane’s crimes. They hoped to avoid being thrown back into the sea.
