“Anna, is the girl you saw really Pixie?” she asked. 

Anna nodded. “Esther, haven’t you already seen the photo?” 

Esther stood up and paced back and forth before Anna, seemingly indecisive. 

Anna looked at her in puzzlement and asked, “Esther, what are you thinking?” 

“Do you remember the organ trafficking ring I told you about before?” 

Esther took a deep breath and sat across from Anna, her tone slightly anxious. “You mentioned that the family who adopted Pixie has a little girl with a heart condition, and it gave me a very absurd idea. Could it be possible that they don’t want to let me take Pixie away because they’re intentionally keeping her as an organ storage?” 

Esther’s idea coincided with the absurd thought Anna had just had. 

Anna’s gaze flickered, and she hesitated before saying, “Esther, I had the same thought earlier. In our line of work, dealing with high-end fashion and wealthy clients, money is no obstacle to them. They can buy whatever they desire without a second thought. 

“I once had a client with a rare blood type, and he always kept a man with the same blood type. around him. Whether for work or travel, he called him his assistant, but the man never did any assistant-related tasks.” 

Esther instantly understood and looked at Anna with fear in her eyes. “The assistant’s purpose is for emergencies, isn’t it?” she asked, realizing the truth. 

“Yes.” 

Once the thought of her precious Pixie being exploited by wealthy and powerful people crossed Esther’s mind, panic overwhelmed her. 

“Anna, regardless of whether Pixie is being used like that or not, I must take her away.” 

Anna’s determined gaze met Esther’s as she responded, “Then we’ll sneak her away tonight.”

Esther and Anna often shared similar ideas. Since the church refused to release Pixie and Anna now knew the adoptive family’s location, they had to take decisive action to bring Pixie back. 

“Let’s focus on work for now. We’ll discuss this tonight.”
