Chapter 412
How could Esther possibly find her biological daughter amidst this vast sea of people?
Jacob handed the Rubik’s Cube to Sunshine, saying coldly, “My people are already looking for Pixie. Before noon today, I will take you to her.”
Esther felt like she was being pushed into an unfathomable abyss as she opened her mouth. Every move she made plunged her deeper into uncertainty.
Should she focus on finding Pixie and redoing the DNA test, or should she simply feign ignorance and pretend that nothing had happened?
“Mommy!” Felix noticed Esther’s downcast demeanor and rushed over.
Esther crouched down without hesitation, embracing Felix tightly upon hearing his voice. She held him close as if cradling her entire world in her arms.
Felix clung to Esther, his innocent voice reassuring her, “Mommy, don’t be afraid. I will always be by your side.”
In Esther’s embrace, Felix’s small body radiated boundless strength. His constant flow of energy calmed her panicked heart and replaced it with unwavering resolve.
Determined to find Pixie, she sought the truth she desperately craved, whether she was her daughter or not.
“Jacob, I’m counting on you.”
Jacob replied coldly, “We are just doing a transaction.”
Esther’s eyes flickered, recalling the photo in Jacob’s book and their conversation. She made up her mind to fight for Jacob once more.
“Thank you, Jacob,” she said, her eyes shining with determination.
Jacob felt uneasy under her earnest gaze. “I’m not doing this for you,” he replied, trying to sound indifferent.
“I know, I understand you’re doing this for Pixie-” Esther began to explain, but Jacob’s gesture cut her short.
