Bradley said indifferently, "Place it down."
Sally obediently set the box on the table.
Bradley glanced at Esther, smiled wickedly, and beckoned, "Esther, come here and open your gift."
Esther clutched the rifle and wondered why he had a gift for her.
As Bradley began counting, "One, two..."
Before he could reach three, Esther approached and casually discarded the rifle.
The pink box was beautifully wrapped, but an unexplainable urge to flee washed over her as she gazed at it.
"Open it," Bradley coldly instructed.
Esther shivered inexplicably but proceeded to unwrap the gift. The pink bow, perhaps due to it being a gift, was elegantly tied and easy to undo.
A gentle tug on one corner of the pink satin bow, and it came apart effortlessly.
Inside, she found a severed hand, covered in blood.
Upon seeing the gruesome sight, Esther's legs gave way, and she collapsed. It felt as though her eyes were deceiving her. She glanced at the hand, nearly the size of Sunshine's, and tears welled up.
