Esther sat on the hospital bed, boredom overwhelming her as she flipped through the engagement invitation.
Truthfully, if she weren't part of the affair, she would relish witnessing Logan's embarrassment—a self-inflicted wound.
Yet, being one of the involved parties, Esther felt like she had willingly stepped into a lion's den.
In the midst of her boredom, Esther detected a subtle, probing gaze. Calmly, she strolled to the window, drew the curtains, and scrutinized the building across the way.
After Logan sent away his parents, he casually approached Esther, inquiring, "What are you looking at?"
"Somebody's observing us from the building opposite."
Logan joined Esther by the window, glancing across. "Any idea who it might be?"
Esther turned to Logan, whispering, "I suspect it's Bradley."
Logan raised an eyebrow. "Your suspicion is likely correct."
Esther and Logan synchronized their approach, appearing as though they were kissing due to the displacement.
Observing Esther and Logan from the building across, Bradley felt as though someone had forcibly ripped a piece of his heart out with a knife. His hands, gripping the binoculars, trembled slightly. He was overwhelmed by resentment and betrayal.
Anger consumed him. He pounded the wall furiously and gritted his teeth, glaring at Logan as if he intended to shoot him point-blank.
"Dylan, I'll be staying here for a while."
