As the guards were scattered like bowling pins, the portly manager's face drained. He attempted to make a run for it, his hefty frame slowing him down. Liam was on him in a flash, grabbing the back of his shirt and hurling him through the hotel's front door, which shattered on impact. The manager hit the ground hard, coughing up blood.
Struggling, the manager fished out his cell phone, his hands shaking as he dialed a number. "It's... it's a disaster, boss, a real mess. Someone's trashed the place..."
While the manager was on the phone, Liam had already cleared a path through the security detail and was back at the private room he had left earlier. The corridor behind him was a mess, with hotel guards strewn about in disarray.
Inside the private room, Samara and her companions waited with bated breath.
One of the women Liam had knocked away, a hefty one, clutched her head and bellowed with rage, "Hmph! That wench Celena and Liam, they had the nerve to hit me! They won't get away with this. I'm calling my dad and his crew over right now! They're going to regret crossing me!"
Fuming, she snatched up her phone and dialed her family's number without hesitation.
That woman was no small fry. Her father was the infamous Quim Wakelin of Drunham City. The city's underworld was split into four territories, and Quim ruled over one of them with an iron fist.
Samara, hearing the plump woman's urgent plea, quickly responded, "Absolutely, call your dad right now to bring help! There's no way Liam would dare to mess with us after that!"
Just recalling Liam's brutal efficiency sent a shiver down Samara's spine. It was downright horrifying!
Her fear was real. Samara was used to playing with those less fortunate than herself, always playing the untouchable heiress. Her temper was quick and fierce, and she never feared anyone, knowing her family's status would keep her safe and everyone else sucking up to her.
Plus, as Tucker Fabish's only daughter, she was the jewel of his eye, shielded from every hardship, which only fed into her haughty demeanor, intolerant of anyone who might outshine her.
The hefty woman was none other than Billie Wakelin, daughter of the infamous Quim Wakelin, the kingpin of Drunham City's underworld. As Liam marched toward them, her face twisted in horror, and she jabbed a trembling finger in his direction.
"Stay back! My dad's on his way with his crew, and if you lay a finger on me, he'll hunt you down. You know who my dad is, right? Quim, the big shot of Drunham City, is always surrounded by his army of guards and goons. You try anything, and he'll make you pay!"
