Chapter 0191
Candice looked at him, every word unspoken felt like a stab to her chest. “Then what do you want
from me?”
The calm facade on her face seemed to crack, revealing a trace of confusion and helplessness as she murmured softly. “What else do you want me to do?”
Alex glanced down at her without much emotion in his voice. “Isn’t this your specialty?”
He leaned back a bit, his gaze slightly darkened. “Aren’t you best at pleasing people? Jackson, Hanley?”
Watching her, he lazily unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, his expression devoid of emotion, but his words were like a knife piercing through Candice’s heart.
“Candice, you don’t need to pretend to be innocent in front of me.”
The car’s space was cramped, filled only with the sound of their breathing. Her hands gripped the steering wheel tightly. She felt an urge to open the car door and escape. Breathing became difficult; the air in the car seemed laden with needles, each breath causing her more pain.
After a while, she regained her composure. Her hands remained firm on the wheel as she heard herself ask, “What do you mean, Alex?”
Alex looked at her bewildered face. His pupils revealed a hint of something, quickly withdrawn. In
a low voice, he sneered lightly before speaking, “You act like this even in front of them?”
As soon as he finished speaking, Candice suddenly leaned closer.
Her lips brushed against his chin, a gesture of appeasement, before she pulled away.
Her voice was faint, as fleeting as a willow catkin, impossible to grasp.
“Is this enough to please you?”
Candice thought to herself; she must be despicable enough now, willingly trying to please
someone who was tired of her.
She felt numb and cold inside, but she didn’t understand what Alex meant by “satisfaction“.
Alex’s cold snort seemed particularly ironic in the quiet space.
There was no light in the car; only the parking lot’s lights provided illumination. His cold and mocking voice slowly resonated, “Indeed, very skillful means.”

Due to the dark night, she couldn’t see clearly in the dim light. She couldn’t see Alex’s expression,
but she could sense the contemptuous emotion In his tone.
Candice’s body trembled, and the urge to escape Intensified.
But she couldn’t.
Chad was leaving tomorrow, and her only hope lay with Alex now.
Candice struggled to control her emotions, making her voice sound steady and calm. “Alex, be direct. What exactly do you want me to do? I’ve said before, I’ll agree to anything.”
Alex remained silent for a while, only speaking when Candice was about to speak again, his voice faint. “Haven’t I made it clear enough?”
“Please me.”
“Until I’m satisfied.”
Alex reached over to switch on the car’s light, his face calm as he looked at the stiffened Candice sitting in the driver’s seat, his tone cold. “The method is up to you.”
Emotions surged within Candice. His words were so clear; what else didn’t she understand?
He just wanted to embarrass her a bit more.
When she leaned in again, her eyes moistened slightly.
She reached to encircle Alex’s waist, clumsily trying to unbutton a few buttons of his shirt
underneath.
A few strands of hair fell onto his bare collarbone due to her movements, tickling him. He imperceptibly furrowed his brows.
However, he remained steady, watching Candice expressionlessly as she awkwardly fumbled, attempting to ignite something within him.
Her fingertips hooked onto one button of his shirt, trying to undo it, but her trembling hands failed.
She lowered her head, seemingly struggling with the button, fixating on it.
Her icy fingers occasionally brushed against Alex’s warm skin.
Until a hot tear fell onto his chest.
Candice clenched her teeth tightly. It took her a while to undo that button on Alex’s shirt.
But-

She truly loathed herself now.
So despicable that even she felt repulsed.
Candice closed her eyes.
For her grandfather, she could sacrifice her dignity and face.
For her grandfather, she could do anything to make him better.
However, when Candice’s hand once again touched Alex’s chest, he grabbed her wrist.
As the man spoke, his chest rose and fell slightly, the warmth of his skin against her fingertips.
yet his voice remained cold.
He looked at Candice’s slightly moist eyelashes, and the coldness in his eyes deepened. “What are you thinking? Candice, do you think that by acting like this, I would be interested?”
Alex flung her hand away and then spoke in a low voice, “Get lost.”
Candice was already physically weakened recently, and being pushed away by Alex caused her to lose her balance momentarily. Her head hit the car window with a loud thud.
Alex’s gaze darkened for a moment, showing a hint of irritation between his brows.
