Alex's face had always been expressionless, but Sonia felt that his cold expression was even more terrifying than usual now.
His usual cold indifferent eyes were replaced by a deep chill. When she met his eyes, all the prepared words were swallowed back. She even hesitated and considered leaving before making any moves.
However, before she could act, he looked at her and asked, "The information about Aether Corporation, did you give it to Xavier?"
Sonia was stunned, almost as if she didn't expect Alex to ask her this question.
Standing in place, she felt somewhat at a loss.
Sonia had thought Alex would ask her why she was with Xavier, why she had slept with another man. However, he was only concerned about Aether Corporation's documents.
Her originally prepared excuses seemed useless at that moment. She could only ask him, "Don't you have any other questions for me?"
Alex stared at her, and apart from the usual coldness in his eyes, there was also a hint of impatience. He tapped his fingers on the table and said in a cold tone, "Can't you understand my words? I'm asking you, did you give Aether Corporation's information to Xavier?"
The hurt on Sonia's face was too obvious. She slowly walked to Alex and looked at him with a mournful expression. "Alex, do you know what you're saying? I've slept with another man, and you're still concerned about your files... Alex, do you really not care about me?!"
Sonia's final question completely brought out Alex's impatience. He didn't bother to conceal it as he directly instructed Sawyer, "Call the police. Someone has stolen confidential business information."
Hearing this, Sonia's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Alex, screaming, "Alex!"
Tears started to flow from her eyes. She looked heartbroken. It was as if Alex was an extremely heartless person.
Still, he remained unmoved.
He still sat in his original position and looked down at her from a higher vantage point without any sign of being moved.
Looking at his indifferent expression, she suddenly felt an overwhelming bitterness in her heart. She bit her lip and turned her head to the side, trying to avoid his gaze.
However, she happened to see Candice sitting in the corner.
Candice was also expressionless as her eyes were filled with indifference.
However, Sonia inexplicably felt as if she saw absolute superiority and mockery in Candice's eyes.
She could tolerate Alex's indifference, but who was Candice to be indifferent toward her?!
Sonia clenched her fists as she couldn't tolerate Candice looking down on her!
Clearly, Candice was inferior in every way!
Why did Candice have the right to look down on her, to despise her?!
Sonia's palms clenched into fists, and she suddenly looked up at Alex, questioning, "Why is Candice here? Alex, why do you want to meet this despicable person again?!"
A layer of frost had already covered Alex's face. He stared at Sonia intently, and besides the usual coldness, there was a surge of impatience in his eyes.
His voice also carried a strong sense of oppression as he insisted, "Answer my question."
Instantly, she was intimidated by his aura.
It seemed as if she couldn't understand why he was suddenly talking to her like this. Her voice choked, "Yes! I gave the documents to Xavier, but won't you ask me why I did it?"
"Alex, you should ask yourself who your girlfriend is. Why should your documents be delivered by Candice? Why can't you tell me?"
"I just want to know how important this document is to you that Candice can deliver it but I can't!"
"And you took her to take a family photo at your grandfather's birthday? What about me?! What do you take me for? She's just a slut who sleeps with anyone!"
"She truly has no shame."
Candice was not surprised by how Alex handled Sonia.
After all, Sonia was someone he had genuinely cared about, so there would always be some privileges.
He wouldn't be willing to sue her.
However, whether Alex pursued the matter or not, she would certainly take Sonia to court first.
Ivor's phone had been repaired, and the recordings inside could be reviewed. Candice was about to go out to meet Jackson to retrieve the phone.
While Alex might let Sonia go, Candice wouldn't.
She had said that as long as Sonia meddled and caused harm to Joe, she wouldn't let Sonia off easily.
Meanwhile, at Northdale Youth Apartment.
As soon as Sonia opened the door, a lively noise emanated from inside.
She hesitated for a moment, then furrowed her brows, looking at the relatives sitting in the living room.
"Oh, Sonia is back. Indeed, such a beautiful girl. No wonder she found such a good match."
Sonia stiffened, looking at the woman sitting in the middle, "Mom, why is Aunt Jocelyn here?"
Sonia's mother, Joan, was dissatisfied with Sonia's words and gave her a stern look. "Watch your words. Aunt Jocelyn came all the way to see you. By the way, invite Alex too. We'll have dinner together tonight. Aunt Jocelyn has something to ask for his help this time!"
