The grievance in Sonia's eyes transformed into a lament. The name of Candice was the one she could hardly bear to hear now.

If not for Candice, Alex would never have been so heartless to her.

Sonia suddenly lifted her head, remembering the night when her affair with Xavier had been discovered. When she hurriedly came to the company, she had seen Candice! Moreover, even at the hospital before, Candice had mentioned her affair with Xavier.

Abruptly, her phone's ringtone interrupted her thoughts. Sonia looked at the display showing "Mom" and answered the call with an expressionless face.

Joan's scolding voice immediately came through, "How is it going with Alex? Have you apologized properly? Let me tell you, you'll regret it if you let him slip away!"

"Aunt Jocelyn is coming over this weekend with Uncle Ivan and your brother. You’d better bring Alex for dinner, got it?"

Taking a deep breath, Sonia replied, "I'm still at work."

With that, she hung up the phone. She bit her bloodless lips and quickly made another call.

'Candice. You owe me, and you're going to pay me back double!' she thought to herself.

"Red Leaf Studio wants to meet tonight?" In the villa, Candice furrowed her brows. "Wasn't it scheduled for Wednesday? Why the sudden change?"

"They said the boss has to go abroad for studies, so they had to reschedule," replied Ryan, holding his phone with a hint of helplessness. Since Red Leaf Studio's boss had collaborated with Burning Star Studio in the past, this meeting was easily agreed upon.

Candice nodded. "It's fine; I'll go there later."

"No problem. Mr. Warner is a nice person. Just follow the regular procedures," Ryan added.

Not paying much attention, he picked up his things and prepared to leave. "The boss and the others are still waiting for me; I'll go first."

Candice went back to her study, gathered some information from Red Leaf Studio, and left when it was time for the scheduled meeting. When she arrived, Hanley and the others hadn't returned yet.

The atmosphere at the meeting was a bit uncomfortable for Candice. Besides Warner, there were two or three people from other companies, including Xavier.

Apologizing, Warner explained, "Our overseas courses started earlier than expected, and we're in a hurry to go abroad. So, I had to call everyone together. Sorry for the inconvenience."

His attitude was good, and Candice couldn't say anything. The banquet was nice, and Warner was a smooth operator, effortlessly managing the atmosphere.

Just as the banquet was about to end, Candice suddenly felt a gaze constantly directed at her.

She subtly frowned, showing some displeasure. The next moment, she heard Xavier's gentle voice, "Candice, we've cooperated before, and we can be considered somewhat acquainted. Now, we both have collaborations with Mr. Warner's studio, and I think it's fate."

He raised his wine glass with a sincere expression. "I won't say anything too formal. I just feel it's a coincidence. Let's have a drink."
