Candice was lying in bed and the doctor had yet to finish asking about the situation when Hanley entered. He had gone to get the check-up appointment form.
After listening to the doctor's words, Hanley turned around and went to the nurse's station to borrow a wheelchair.
Candice frowned slightly, showing some resistance. "I'm not in such a serious condition yet."
Hanley lowered his gaze and draped a soft blanket on the wheelchair. "Didn't you hear what the doctor just said? He said you shouldn’t move if you can avoid it."
Unable to resist Hanley's insistence, Candice could only sit in the wheelchair and let him push her to the examination. She felt a bit strange in a wheelchair. She kept her back straight and did not dare to lean back, looking a bit serious.
Hanley sighed and stopped the wheelchair in a place where there was no one around. He said softly, "I won't push you over. You can relax a little."
Feeling embarrassed, Candice explained softly. "I just haven't sat in a wheelchair before."
The examination room was not far from the ward, and it was all done quickly, but the results would not be available until the afternoon.
When she left the examination room, Candice looked at her phone and hesitated, saying to Hanley, "It's still early. I can go to the meeting hall now and catch today's meeting."
She couldn’t stay in the hospital. There were still many things to deal with Redshade, and Angela had also said that there would be other partners coming today.
Hanley naturally understood what she meant. He thought for a moment and said, "Your health is the most important. Don't worry about things on that side. Yondu is still there. If anything happens, he and Mr. Franklyn will tell me."
"But there are other organizers coming today, and Quentin's impression of us is obviously not good." Candice insisted on going. She looked at her belly. "And I feel fine."
Unable to persuade Candice, Hanley could only accompany her to the meeting hall, but he still rented a wheelchair from the hospital. The doctor had repeatedly told Candice not to move if she could help it, and he remembered it even more firmly than Candice did. Candice had no choice but to let him.
When they went over, they met Mr. Franklyn and Yondu at the door. Yondu was shocked to see Candice in a wheelchair. "I haven’t seen you for only a night. What happened to you?" Then he looked at Hanley, who was pushing the wheelchair, and glared at him. "Didn't you say you wouldn't come? Why did you suddenly come?"
Yondu had a lot to say, but Hanley glanced at him lightly and said coldly, "You're too noisy."
Yondu stared blankly for a long time without saying a word, and Hanley pushed Candice away.
Sitting in a wheelchair did attract attention. Many people came up to express their concern, and some who knew Hanley also came up to greet him.
Candice felt overwhelmed by the crowd, so Hanley pushed her to her usual seat and then went to deal with the people around him.
Angela came over, touching her chin, looking pensive. "Candy, I didn't expect this. You're quite impressive."
Candice raised her eyes. "How am I impressive?"
Angela gestured towards Hanley and whispered. "Do you know his nickname used to be 'Mr. Unreachable'? I heard many designers, both male and female, have shown interest in him, but none have succeeded."
Hearing Angela's gossipy tone, Candice took out her folder and said in a business-like manner, "You're thinking too much. He’s my boss, and he came to Solaris for work."
"I've never seen a boss who would give extra care to their employees when traveling for work." Angela patted Candice's shoulder. "But it's good that you're here today. I heard that several organizers and Redshade's executives are coming for a meeting, and they are going to announce some of their current project requirements."
