After a moment of silence, the coldness in Candice's eyes deepened. "Defamation?"
She guessed that Sonia wouldn’t just admit her mistake, but she didn’t expect her to make a counterattack.
"Candy, you better prepare yourself. Sonia's lawyer is from Solaris and is quite famous for handling cases where they managed to overturn verdicts."
When she heard the word Solaris, Candice thought of the settlement agreement in the police station. She lowered her eyes slightly, pursed her lips, and buried her thoughts.
Jackson couldn’t say much more and could only remind Candice to be careful. It seemed he was busy too, as the call ended soon after.
Candice stood still in silence for a while, then turned and went into the bathroom.

The call from Dorrington Police came early the next morning, informing Candice of the situation and asking her to return to Dorrington as soon as possible.
Apart from Sonia's issue, there was also Yvonne. It was said that she was not in a good mental state now and would suddenly start cursing Ivor before breaking down in tears.
Candice didn’t react much, and just casually responded to the police.
After hanging up, she looked at the documents on the table and sighed slightly. It was already Thursday, and Jensen's flight back to Solaris was on Monday next week. In the meantime, she had to prepare another set of materials to be submitted directly to Jensen. Time was tight.
But fortunately, she had originally planned to study the plan calmly these days, so she had no other arrangements. Going back to Dorrington wouldn’t delay anything, it only meant that she would have to put in a little more effort.
After hesitating for a moment, Candice made up her mind.
She called Hanley and explained the situation. Hanley told her to go back and handle things first, but the only trouble now was Barox.
He was still injured and resting in his room. If Candice went back to Dorrington, there would be no one to take care of him.
As it turned out, her worries were unnecessary. She had just finished her call to Hanley, and hadn’t even started packing yet, when there was a knock on the door.
Candice opened the door, and Barox leaned against the door frame. He was still limping, and his lower leg was bulged from the bandage wrapped around it.
Candice was hesitant, thinking about how to arrange things for Barox, when he said flatly, "There's something going on at my mentor's house, and I have to go back immediately."
There was a neatly packed suitcase behind him. Candice nodded. "I'll go with you."
Barox looked at her strangely. "I don't blame you for my injury, you don't have to take care of me so diligently." He added slowly, "It could be misunderstood if someone sees us."
Candice couldn’t keep up with Barox's thoughts and didn’t want to explain either. She packed her luggage, bought the earliest flight ticket, and went downstairs to head to the airport.
She didn’t expect to run into old Mr. Elysian in the hotel lobby.
Bruno was following him, also carrying luggage. The old man saw the luggage in Candice's hand and was slightly surprised. "Candy, are you going back too?"
"There's something urgent, so I have to go back and deal with it."
"Well, that's perfect. Lex was just about to take me to the airport, so we can go together."
Following his words, Candice looked up and saw Alex standing there with a cold expression. His gaze fell on Candice's suitcase, and he frowned lightly.
