Chapter 0006
Since Alex said he would bring Sonia to the party this weekend, Candice did not interfere.
She compiled the information into a file, sent it to Sonia via email, and stopped asking.
However, Sonia was just an intern. She had to juggle between dealing with her workload and preparing for the party, so it overwhelmed her easily.
Candice saw her in a mess and Alex’s reminder rang in her head. She asked Sonia, “Do you need help?”
Sonia was startled.
Candice looked into the girl’s eyes calmly. “There will be a lot of guests at Morinaga Estate’s party this weekend. I’ve sent you the guest list. Try to remember their preferences and you just need to remind Alex when he meets them.”
Sonia nodded repeatedly and showed an adorable smile. “Thank you,
Candice.”
“Don’t be nervous.” Candice paused for a moment and added, “Alex will take care of you.”
Sonia blushed when Alex’s name was mentioned. She bit her lips shyly and returned to her workstation with the file.
Candice said nothing. She sent the same file to Alex’s work phone as well.
She had ceased contacting Alex via his private number ever since he asked her to do so.
After she sent the file over, she unconsciously scrolled down and saw the display picture on Alex’s private number had turned into a pink rabbit.
It had only been days.
This reminded Candice of when she asked Alex to change his gray profile picture but he had always said it was troublesome.
Later in the afternoon, the receptionist called to inform the arrival of Alex’s client.
Candice told the receptionist to arrange for the client to wait in the meeting room before she got up and informed Alex.

Alex nodded and headed to the meeting room with her.
When he passed by Sonia’s desk, he tapped on it and said coldly, “Come to the meeting room.”
Alex was obviously trying to train Sonia.
Rumors abound in the company that Candice was losing the CEO’s affection, but she remained unbothered.
She followed Alex to the meeting room and chatted with the client.
She then looked at Sonia and said, “Go bring us some tea.”
When Sonia returned with tea, she saw Candice and Alex talking to the client masterfully. The sweet look on her face froze for a moment.
After the client left, she grumbled softly, “Candice, Mr. Elysian, I’ll be going back to my work.”
Candice barely reacted.
The girl looked at Alex with reluctance and left the meeting room, leaving Alex
alone with Candice.
Candice frowned and asked, “Are you sure about bringing her to the party?”
“If not?” Alex frowned and added, “Tell Janet to join the meeting whenever the client comes.”
Janet Lee was another secretary at the Secretary’s Office and she had always managed internal affairs.
Candice recalled Sonia’s grievance from earlier and instantly figured it out.
She could not help but sigh. “You are too good to her.”
Alex did not deny it. “She’s still a girl, of course I have to be good to her.”
