Chapter 166 Couple Dinner
Nigel brought Janet into the restaurant and was guided by the waiter to the reserved seats..
The seats were next to the window and overlooked the entire bustling downtown area of Austin.
He carefully pulled a chair for her and then sat down.
The waiter beside them began to enthusiastically introduce the dishes, “What would you like to order? This is our restaurant’s special menu just for today, and there is a discount for a couple’s meal.”
Nigel took the menu from the waiter and did not refute his words.
Nigel inadvertently glanced at Janet.
Janet looked at the other menu and did not pay much attention to the couple’s meal until the waiter spoke again.
“Sir, Miss, you two are a good match!”
The waiter had worked in this restaurant for a long time. He had seen many influencers and celebrities, but a couple like Nigel and Janet
was rare to see. They were even better looking than many celebrities.
Hearing that. Janet realized the waiter misunderstood. She quickly said, “We are not a couple.”
The waiter was surprised and somewhat embarrassed.
“Sorry, I thought…”
“It doesn’t matter. Go to other customers first. We will call you when we finish ordering.” Janet smiled faintly.
She did not notice that when she denied it, the light in Nigel’s eyes obviously dimmed.
Before she looked at him again, he cheered himself up and teased, “Why were you in such a hurry to explain? Is it embarrassing to be
regarded as my girlfriend?”
“No, I was just afraid it would affect you negatively. If it gets out, you might not get girls so easily.”
“So what? If that happens, why don’t you give yourself to me to make up for it?” Nigel winked at her and said with a wicked smile.
Nigel said it intentionally.
Using a joke to test Janet, at least he could guess the chances of her accepting him after he professed his feelings for her.
Hearing that, Janet froze for a few seconds and did not know how to answer.
Before she could think it through, Nigel suddenly laughed.
“Nervous? I was just teasing you.”
She stared into his eyes but couldn’t figure out which part of his words was real.
After a long time, she sighed.
“Don’t joke about this again.”
