Chapter 240 Tell Me, Janet
Janet’s pupils constricted at the moment she saw Nathaniel. She then looked away.
Janet ignored his sarcasm and sneered, “This is something new to me that you are actually a stalker, Mr.
Webster. But I’m not that surprised to see your despicable side.”
Nathaniel strode forward and grabbed Janet’s wrist, pulling her to a corner.
The rose bushes filled the air with an alluring and slightly sweet fragrance. Before Janet could say anything,
Nathaniel covered her mouth with his hand.
Standing in the middle of the dark red roses and thorny bushes, Nathaniel lowered his eyes and looked into
Janet’s wide-open eyes. His heart was beating extremely fast.
It thumped so quickly as if it was about to jump out of his throat.
Janet’s struggle somehow amused him. Nathaniel’s thin lips curved slightly, and a fleeting smile flashed across his eyes. But soon, it hid behind the black pupils in his narrow eyes.
Nathaniel lowered his voice and said, “Don’t move. I just have a few questions for you.”
He released Janet gently and stared at her.
Janet’s anger hadn’t subsided yet. She glared at him with her watery almond-shaped eyes and tried to leave
right away.
“Janet Longfellow!” Nathaniel stopped her, almost shouting.
Nathaniel grabbed Janet’s wrist again, and he was almost exasperated. “How many things have you been
hiding from me?”
Janet paused and turned around to give him a meaningful look, raising her eyebrows.
She gave him a half-smile, which looked more like a sneer. “What’s wrong with you, Mr. Webster? What do you mean by that? Who are you to ask me this? We are not that close, right?
“Don’t forget that we have already divorced. It is not your place to tell me what to do. Also, don’t be nosy in my
business unless you want to see things get ugly.”
The moment she saw Nathaniel, Janet knew what he was there for.
Her team won against Nathaniel’s team in the competition today. Of course he would come to her to vent his
anger.
Moreover, Nathaniel still tried to hire Xipil. How could he not be anxious now?
Janet guessed with ill meaning, wondering if Nathaniel had noticed what she did and started to suspect her.
If Nathaniel found out that she was actually Xipil, then he would understand that he would never get Xipil to
work for him.
This kind of malicious thought made Janet feel much better after she saw Nathaniel.

However, the cold look in Janet’s eyes made Nathaniel feel a sudden sharp pain in his heart.
The Janet he used to know disappeared.
“You can speak six languages and you know how to hack a computer. When did you learn all these?” Nathaniel said word by word, his voice getting hoarse, “Tell me, Janel.”
Janet’s gaze sharpened instantly.
She looked at Nathaniel and said coldly, “Don’t Janet me, Mr. Webster. It’s Ms. Longfellow!”
The corners of Nathaniel’s eyes became redder. He seemed to turn a deaf ear to Janet’s scold and mutter to
himself, “I watched the video of you in the competition… What is the relationship between you and Xipil?
“What else have you been hiding from me?
“Why didn’t you say a word in the past? Why did you just… You just keep it from me?”
In the past, Nathaniel always thought that Janet was nothing but a scheming moron, so he was always
indifferent to her. But now, everything he had believed was completely changed, which made him feel so
surreal.
He seemed to have missed a lot of things.
Seeing the pain flash in Nathaniel’s eyes, Janet sneered, Why should I tell you?”
The wariness and disgust in Janet’s eyes stabbed Nathaniel’s heart.
“How dare you talk to me like this?” He grabbed Janet’s chin, and a vicious and fierce look came into his eyes.
As soon as he finished speaking, he heard the low voices of men and women from the side. It seemed that
there was someone else nearby.
Soon, the two voices tailed off and turned into the sound of kissing and teasing. It stimulated Nathaniel, who
was on the verge of collapse.
He approached closer and looked at Janet’s beautiful face, being in a trance for a moment.
The moment their breaths intertwined, Nathaniel noticed Janet’s tension and restlessness.
