No one would vote against such an advantage. So, the meeting ended earlier than expected.
Coming out of the meeting room, Nerissa blocked my way and looked at me, "Arianna, let's talk."
She must want to talk to me about Advancer Tech. I nodded at her, then took a glance at Irvin, "We'll have lunch together later?"
He nodded, "I'll wait for you."
Looking at the interaction between Irvin and me, Nerissa frowned unhappily. After Irvin walked away, she looked at me and suggested, "Let's go to my office to talk."
I nodded, "Sure."
Nerissa's office was decorated with a lot of flowers, making it very cozy. After we entered the office, she gestured for me to sit down and poured me some coffee.
Then, she went to sit in the chair behind her desk, and she didn't go straight to the point on Advancer Tech. Instead, she looked at me and asked, "How are you and Hendrix doing lately?"
As our families, she had all the right to ask such a question. I answered without much emotions, "We're not seeing or talking with each other."
Seeing that I was getting impatient, Nerissa sighed softly and changed the topic, "Well then, let's talk about business. You used Advancer Tech as the vouch. Have you thought about what would happen if you can't change anything in a year?"
I raised my eyebrows at her and asked, "Aunt Nerissa, are you asking this for the Roberts or the Grangers? If it's for the Roberts, you don't have to worry. I definitely have a plan if I dare to risk Advancer Tech. Besides, Grandpa had already given Advancer Tech to me when he passed away two years ago. I'm in charge of the company now. To put it bluntly, it's my own decision to make."
Nerissa was unhappy to hear my reply. Pulling a long face, she said in a solemn voice, "Father gave you Advancer Tech because he trusted you. He must be hoping that you can lead Advancer Tech to make its name on the international market and work for the prosperity of the Roberts family together with Hendrix. I don't think it's for you to use it as a mortgage."
Seeing that she had turned bitter, I got up and looked at her, "As you said, Grandpa trusted me. Since he trusted me, no one can change my mind about the decision I make. Not even Grandpa. After all, we never doubt people that we chose to trust, do we?"
