My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 337

Humans were ridiculous. It was wrong to love, it was wrong not to love.

I turned around and went upstairs, feeling like there was nothing else I could talk to him about.

"All it took was that simple phrase to end everything between us?" He said in a very soft, emotionless voice.

I stopped in my tracks even though I did not look back.

"Arianna, if you really hate me, are you willing to let me go just like that? The best revenge in the world is to make one suffer a living death. Are you trying to get your revenge or are you letting things go by divorcing me?"

I didn't know what made Hendrix, such a noble man, say such words. I looked back at him.

With a slight frown, I said, "Hendrix, you know I won't fall for these words!"

He looked up, and his eyes were fierce. "The resentment in your heart can only be eased by going back with me."

"Aren't you afraid that I will stab you to death in the middle of the night?" In the past, I would not, things were different now. If I hated someone enough, even killing wouldn't do much in dissippating the hate.

He pressed his lips together, and his eyes flickered. "I'll wait and see!"

I looked up and saw that the lights in the room had already been turned on. Irvin's tall figure was standing by the French window.

I was far away, so I couldn't see his expression clearly. I could imagine how he looked like now though.

Hendrix saw what I was doing. He frowned, but didn't say anything.

After a long while, I looked at him and said calmly, "Hendrix, I can go back with you, but I have a condition."

"What is it?"

"I want everyone in Jarold City to know who I am, and I want you to dissociate yourself from Andrea. And you are not allowed to question me no matter what I do in the future!"

He frowned before finally nodding. "Done!"

After a pause, he continued, "I'll pick you up tomorrow." "Fine!"

At the front door.

A low chuckle was heard. "Okay, I understand."

These simple words sounded like they bore the weight of the world.

However, this was the right thing to do.

I parted my lips to say something, but no word left my mouth.

Back in the bedroom, I tossed and turned on the bed but couldn't fall asleep.

In these two short months, I don't think I've ever really thought about what was going to happen to me in the future.

How should I deal with what was happening between Hendrix and I, as well as Irvin? I let him take good care of me and took his kindness for granted. However, I forgot that, in the end, I wouldn't be able to give him anything in return, and that he would be the one hurting.

I was already in ruins. I couldn't get him in trouble anymore.

The night felt so long that I didn't think daylight would come.
