At the cafe.
After finding a seat, she sat down and ordered herself a cup of strong coffee.
As she gracefully stirred her coffee, I looked down at the glass of milk I ordered. To be honest, I had no interest in coffee; I just didn't enjoy it.
Looking at her, I couldn't help but say, "You and your mother are really alike."
They both liked strong coffee.
She looked down at the coffee in her hand and seemed to understand what I meant. She asked, "How far exactly are you going to go?"
I was stunned, and I didn't know how to respond. "What?"
She raised her eyebrows and said coldly, "Calvin has been sentenced to death. Arnold is being investigated while my mother also got involved. If you're looking to take revenge on me, wouldn't my child and mother's reputation suffice?"
"No!" I replied coldly, "I had nothing to do with what happened to your child. Moreover, I don't think killing a child would bring me comfort. As for your mother, isn't she currently safe and sound? She was just investigated. If she didn't do anything, she would still be a rich woman and her reputation would still be intact. However, if she really did those filthy things to get to where she is, she would be found out sooner or later, wouldn't she?"
