When I got out of the store, I couldn't hear anything else. I carried my shopping bags and sighed.
By the time I went to KFC, Hendrix and Rowane were no longer there.
Perhaps they had to leave first, so it was a lie to say that I was not disappointed. I had to comfort myself by saying that they were working and that it was nothing.
I didn't drive to the mall, and it was inconvenient to go to Nerissa's place at night, so I took a taxi back to the villa.
It was already late and dark when I arrived home.
After Fiona finished cooking, she left some reminders and left in a hurry.
I looked for Anne and she was playing in her room after having her dinner. When she saw me, she called out, "Mom!"
Then, she continued playing with her toys.
I didn't bother her and I returned to the bedroom. I thought that Hendrix wasn't at home.
As I opened the door, a cold voice sounded.
There was a hint of anger in his voice as he said, "Why didn't you pick up the phone?"
I froze and found that my phone was turned off. "My phone died," I explained.
As he stood at the balcony, his slender and straight back looked a little cold and stern.
He slowly turned back at me and asked coldly, "What did you do just now?"
"I went to buy something." I lifted the box in my hand and looked up at him with a slight smile, "I bought you some clothes. They're a little different from your usual style."
He looked at me and narrowed his eyes. I reckoned that perhaps he was mad at me for forgetting the time and for wandering around the mall.
I said, "Don't you want to try the clothes on? I paid with your card!"
He looked at me, and his cold eyebrows relaxed. He said tiredly, "No, you should go to bed early."
