The Martinez family left.
The atmosphere at the banquet was ruined. Melanie felt that it was unnecessary to continue. It was also getting late, so she announced the end of the banquet.
Melanie and Stefan went to see the guests off while Lily saw her classmates off. Melanie arranged transportation for all of them to be driven back to their dormitories and homes respectively.
After Lily bid all the students from Class 18 goodbye, the Lauriers had just seen off the last group of guests too. Melanie noticed Lily standing alone by the roadside and walked over to her. Tonight's events were unexpected, and she was worried Lily might be upset.
Suddenly, a black car turned the corner and sped down the road, quickly knocking over several cars. Lily fixed her gaze on the car, and her expression turned into shock when she saw it was heading toward Melanie.
She quickly ran toward Melanie, shouting, "Get out of the way!"
Loid and Shaun, who had just exited the hotel, witnessed the scene. Both of them tensed up and hurried over.
Yet, they were still a step too late.
Melanie heard Lily's voice and looked up in shock. Before she could react, the collision threw her about 30 feet away. The car didn't stop. It quickly switched directions and disappeared from sight.
The guests who were in their cars but had not left yet all alighted their vehicles to check on the situation. Instantly, it became crowded in front of the hotel.
Loid exuded an air of iciness as he approached, dialing a number as he did. "Send someone over. Block all exits in Lagersfield. Get an ambulance, and contact Neil."
Then, he got into his car and started the engine. The luxury sports car shot off like an arrow into the dark night.
Shaun ignored him and ran to Melanie's side. He was about to pick her up when a low growl sounded from behind him. "Don't touch her!"
The air around Lily felt oppressive and suffocating.
