Lily tossed her phone onto the table and stared coldly at Jaiden like a beast ready to pounce. Jaiden couldn't help but freeze under her threatening gaze, and the tension in the box was palpable.
It took Jaiden a while to regain his composure. He addressed Lily politely, "Miss, why don't you do me a favor since you have no use for Redushil anyway? I'm willing to offer you some rare herbs in exchange for the Redushil."
Her patience wearing thin, Lily rested a foot on the chair and stared down at Jaiden like a hooligan. "Is my favor worth anything?"
"Hm?" At a loss for words, Jaiden stammered, "I-I guess."
"Oh!" She shrugged. "Too bad I don't need money."
Loid could not hold back a laugh at Jaiden's defeat. "See, Mr. Quinn? My fiancée disagrees. I'm sorry, but I'm at her mercy. Please forgive me."
"So, you seem intent on snatching the Redushil from me." Jaiden straightened his body and grew stern.
"It's a fair competition. There's no snatching. Whoever puts in the highest bid gets the Redushil," Loid corrected him while peeling a tangerine for Lily.
Jaiden's eyes narrowed. He suddenly smiled. "Fine. It's a fair competition, then."
After Jaiden left, Lily finally retracted her foot from the table and checked her phone, just in time to read the text from Duncan: "Damn! Are you at the Grand Emperor Hotel? Are you in the hall or a box?"
Raising a brow, she swiftly replied: "Why?"
