Chapter Three
Curious Little Lamb Zack's POV
Sometimes I wondered why the Goddess decided to curse me. Why couldn't I have been born normal like my other lycan brothers and sisters? Instead, the Fire Wolf that existed in me had been tormenting me for as long as I could remember.
I retreated to the large pool that sat in the middle of the main palace.
The water blessed by the full moon was the only thing that could ever calm the Fire Wolf, offering some peace from being irritable all day.
The Fire Wolf's existence meant that I burned internally and externally; it physically hurt me to even be awake some days. On top of that, I had to hear their complaints, their whining.
I had to be reminded that they were never satisfied.
I either needed to appease their restless soul by hunting down someone innocent or by soaking in the moon-blessed pool.
I took in a deep breath and opened my eyes to see Cerberus walking up to me. My loyal monster of a pet lay at the edge of the pool and bent down to greet me.
I rubbed his head. "Foolish girls will need to try harder than that if they want my blood”
I grabbed a knife that I had stashed in my pants pocket and sliced my palm. Blood dripped to the ground, which Cerberus happily licked up. My loyal dog is more deserving of my blood than those greedy and selfish werewolves. My mind went back just a few minutes ago to when I burned that girl alive. Delivering swift justice and hearing their agonizing screams used to bring a smile to my face but lately, I've found it to be unbearably boring. Day after day, and night after night, I had to endure the torture of the Fire Wolf—a being that I could never satisfy regardless of how much I killed. And now, I had over a hundred little girls running around my palace thinking that they had a chance of hurting me for their gain.
I sighed. Wait, there was one who didn't run. She stared right at me, knowing that Death would have claimed her then. But she stood there.
I thought about the rather cute, petite girl who stared death boldly in the face. A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips. Maybe I'll get to have fun in this short life that I have left. After I got done taking a soak, I followed Cerberus to the west wing of the Palace where all of the maids were to stay.
It surprised me to see that they had already made their way here. Perhaps they're not as stupid as I thought they would be.
I took more care with my steps, treading lightly so as to not be heard or seen. Cerberus mimicked my movements and was also surprisingly quiet as he trotted next to me.
Leaned my head slightly towards the stone walls to hear their conversations.
Luckily, being a lycan meant my hearing was superior to a werewolf’s, so even if they spoke at normal volume, I'd hear them.
I watched the group of girls that sat together as they cleaned their faces of the makeup they wore and got into more comfortable attire. “I can't believe what happened to Alice..”
*She got what she deserved. Who was she to think that she could kill the Lycan King?” “Anny, how can you be so heartless” The blonde girl with the hot pink dress sneered. She must've been Anny. "Heartless for telling the truth? Please, don't be so stupid, Clarissa”
I chuckled at her boldness. “If you're going to go after someone like the Lycan King, you need to not be an idiot and try to attack him head-on,” Anny stated. “Oh, yeah? And what’s your method?’ Another chimed in. “Babe, do you see what I look like?” Anny flipped her blonde hair and ran her hands up the length of her curves to cup her breasts. “There’s no way that he'll be able to resist this”
