Nina is about to catch up when her cell phone rings.
It's Grace. Nina answers the phone in a hurry.
Before she speaks, Grace shouts on the phone, "Nina! Where are you? Why don't you answer the phone? I can't find you anywhere!"
"I..." Nina anxiously looks at Abby and Andrew as they walk away. She sighs helplessly, "I'm in the hospital. It's not convenient for me to answer when you call me at noon. I didn't get through to you later. What happened?"
"You are quite leisurely! Your father is dying!" Grace says angrily.
"What! What's wrong with Dad? When I called you yesterday, you said he was OK. Why does he suddenly become like this?" Nina's voice is shaking with anxiety.
"I don't know! Anyway, your father needs to be hospitalized again. Get the money out quickly!" Grace says.
"What should we do? I don't have much money now. Have you run out of more than a hundred thousand dollars?" Nina asks in surprise. Dad's operation is done. He's resting now and doesn't need to spend more than a hundred thousand dollars.
"Yes! The medicine is very expensive now. Hospital fees are also expensive. I've run out of the money!" Grace says.
"Ah? What about the jewels in the safe? You can sell them for some money." Nina is worried.
"Jewels? I've already sold them!" Grace is finally a little guilty.
"How could it cost so much?" Nina whispers. But Grace hears it clearly. Her voice suddenly grows louder and her tone is fierce. "Nina! You mean I embezzled all the money! Well, I don't care about your father! It doesn't matter to me whether he lives or dies!"
"I don't blame you. I'm sorry. Don't be angry." Nina apologizes when she hears Grace.
"Then try to get some money quickly! Or your father won't live long." Grace says.
"I really don't have any money..." Nina is crying!
"I remember you have a very expensive ring called the heart of the sea. You can give me that ring. I can sell it for money!" Grace suddenly becomes enthusiastic.
The heart of the sea. Nina feels for the hard ring in her pocket. There is a little hesitation in her mind.
This ring is the only thing of value to her. She is going to sell the ring after the baby is born and use the money as living and education expenses.
But now, if she doesn't pay, Dad will die!
"Open it to see if you like it." She thinks of Lucien's voice. Nina suddenly feels that Lucien isn't as bad as she thinks. At least he gave his mistress such an expensive gift. It shows that he is generous. Spending money for women is an important standard for good men.
"Hello! Nina! Are you listening to me or not!" Grace's roar interrupts Nina's thought.
"I'm listening. Don't get angry. Come over at night and I'll give you the ring." Nina says quickly. She is afraid Grace will get angry and will not take care of her father.
"Well, I'll see you tonight!" Grace hangs up with satisfaction.
Ryan looks at Grace anxiously in a private room on the second floor of the casino. "Grace, that's not good. Nina's dad is dead. If she knows you lies to her, she will hate you!"
Grace spits out a smoke ring, "at least she doesn't know now. I will say Lucien got angry after she escaped and found someone to kill Barry. It has nothing to do with me!"
Ryan sighs. "Nina gave you so much money to take care of her father. You shouldn't have lied to her! Grace, can you stop betting? Even if you have a lot of money, you will lose all!"
Grace's big eyes glance at Ryan. "Do you think I want to cheat Nina? Lucien is to blame! The operation was a success, but Lucien heard that Nina ran away, and he didn't pay for the medicine, so Barry died! Lucien is the one who killed her father! I don't want to tell her the bad news because I'm afraid she's sad. I didn't lie to her."
Ryan frowns and shakes his head. "Grace, Nina has given you a lot of money. Why don't you pay for Barry's medicine? It's not Lucien who killed Barry, it's you!"
Grace's eyes widen savagely. "Ryan, shut up! Stop talking nonsense! Barry was killed by Lucien. That's the truth. If I hear you say it again, I will turn against you!"
