Sam's phone had gone dead about a half-hour ago.
When he returned to his room, he found a girl lying on his bed. She was in her pajamas, curled up on the white quilt. Her dark hair was strewn to one side. Her long, delicate legs were both exposed.
Inexplicably, Sam gulped. He then walked over with a smile on his face.
He'd been swamped these two days and hadn't paid much attention to her.
Nonetheless, she was well-behaved. She'd send Sam daily messages reminding him to rest and eat on time. She was as obedient as a kitten.
And since he was going to England on business the next day, he wanted to spend the night with her and take her shopping.
Little did he know that she was fast asleep when he finished his work and came back to his room!
"Lillianna, wake up—" he whispered as he approached her bedside.
Lacey was sleeping soundly. When interrupted, she couldn't help but frown.
"Ugh." She rolled over and shifted her position. Unbeknownst to her, her lingerie was thus exposed.
Sam's eyes grew dim at the sight.
He immediately leaned over and stroked her cheek. "Are you trying to seduce me?" he asked, with a low chuckle.
Lacey's frown increased. She pouted and said, "Let me sleep," in a voice as soft as a kitten's.
Three days had gone by since Maria's sudden death.
Since then, she hadn't been able to get a decent rest.
She couldn't even muster the strength to open her eyes. All she wanted to do now was sleep.
"Have you been drinking?" Sam's voice was low and hoarse. He pinched her nose and said, "You sure drank a lot. You're quite a naughty girl, aren't you?"
Lacey couldn't help but open her eyes when her nose pinched.
"You're so annoying! I told you to let me sleep!" Drunk, Lacey glared at him.
However, if one looked closely, one would notice that her eyes were not focused.
Sam's eyes narrowed, and the grin on his lips grew. "Are you upset?"
