After leaving Garrison's house, Lacey took a taxi downtown.
She needed to buy some new clothes. Otherwise, returning to the Carters in such revealing clothes would cause a stir.
Lacey eventually purchased an outfit from a retail store. Just as she was about to put on her new purchase, her cell phone rang.
"Lacey, save me! I need your help!" Alina yelled over the phone.
"What's the matter, Alina? Calm down!" Lacey sprang to her feet. Her nerves were on edge.
Forty minutes passed.
Lacey was on her way to the airport.
"Okay, I got it. Come again? He's attractive and 6 feet tall? What's his name? Cloud?" Lacey scowled before continuing, "What kind of name is that? What's his real name? Come on, tell me! Hey! Hey—"
She dropped her head and saw that her cell phone was dead.
Lacey shook her phone and pressed the power button. It was, however, remained unresponsive.
How could her phone run out of battery at such a critical moment!
"Miss, you have reached your destination." The taxi driver turned to Lacey after stopping the car.
"May I know what time it is?" Lacey asked somewhat eagerly.
"It's 10:40." The driver replied.
"Oh, thank you." After paying the fare, Lacey rushed out of the car.
She was late!
Alina was such a pain in the a*s! It turned out she learned crime and had gotten into a fight the night before. Her father was outraged and grounded her as a result.
Little did she know that her "boyfriend," the man she claimed to have been dating for two years, had arrived unannounced!
Alina couldn't go out even if she wanted to.
Therefore, she had no choice but to rely on Lacey to pick him up.
Unlucky for Lacey, her phone battery died before she knew the man's actual name.
Moreover, she'd never taken a plane or been to the airport. As soon as she walked inside, she felt woozy.
"Hello, may I ask where is the reception area?" Lacey leaned up close and politely asked the staff inside.
"It's right over there." A member of the crew indicated a direction.
"Thank you." Lacey rushed over after expressing her gratitude.
The entrance to the reception was packed with people.
Lacey got a headache as she looked about. She had no idea who Alina's "boyfriend" was.
Furthermore, she was unable to make a phone call.
What should she do in this situation? It was rare for Alina to seek her help. How could she explain it if she screwed it up?
