Only Katherine and Victoria were kept in the dark among the people present. They hadn't notice the tension between Richard and Pearl.

Both of them were calm and rational. No matter what their true emotions were, they could at least remain calm on the surface.

However, Ethan had known Pearl for seven years. He could accurately tell her feelings judging from the dimness in her eyes.

When he saw Adriana in the banquet hall, he guessed that Richard would come as well. That was why he'd intentionally tried to strike up a conversation with Adriana. It was also his plan to cause such a standstill.

Ethan naturally put his hand on Pearl's shoulder, as if he had done it countless times, "Mr. Zellweger's wedding ceremony should be ahead of ours. I heard from Pearl that they have already invited her verbally. After we received the invitation letter, I will surely attend with Pearl."

Richard's fist creaked as his skin rubbed against his flesh. Luckily, it was covered up by the music from the violin.

Sensing that something was wrong, Adriana hurriedly said: "Pearl never mentioned that she's married you, Mr. Louise. We'll definitely come together to attend the wedding."

She wanted to show her generosity, but she didn't expect Richard to glance at her coldly after she spoke. In an instant, she shivered.

On the other hand, Pearl behaved as a truly graceful lady.

Just then, a soft and clear voice sounded from a distance. "Daddy!"

Bonny wore a collared dress. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail with a big red butterfly band. She squeezed through the gaps in the crowd, followed by Brandon. 

Hearing this, Pearl was taken aback. She nervously clenched her fists.

In the next second, Bonny stood between Richard and Pearl.

Seeing her, Richard's clenched fists involuntarily relaxed. He knew who Bonny was calling. 

But in the next second, Bonny threw herself into Ethan's arms and was picked up by him. 

The servants following her seemed to be exhausted. They waved their hands and gasped, "Miss Bonny, please stop running."

"But we're playing hide-and-seek!" Bonny giggled and looked at the servants who had caught up with her. 

Ethan pinched her nose, "You are such a naughty girl." 

"Grandma, it hurts!" Bonny said to Victoria coquettishly.

Bonny was Victoria's favourite. Seeing this, she angrily glared at Ethan. If there were no guests at the present, she would have kicked him in the face.

"Let go of her! Her nose is going to be pinched crooked by you."

"Her nose is not that easy to be crooked." Ethan huffed.

Bonny snuggled in Ethan's embrace for a long while before turning around and seeing Richard. With a look of surprise, she asked: "Uncle Richard?"

Hearing her call him 'uncle', he felt a sharp pain instantly.

Although the paternity test results had clearly told him that Pearl's two children had no blood relationship with him, he still felt a bit upset when he heard "uncle Richard".

Like a real father, Ethan put Bonny down from his arms and said: "Say hello to uncle Richard properly."
