Before she came back, Pearl'd never doubted that the accident happened seven years ago would have something to do with Adriana, even though Ethan had reminded her many times to be more cautious.
Adriana still looked quite calm, "I'm just trying to get what I want all time."
It was simply the explanation for the deadly incident that Pearl had experienced with 7 years ago.
Pearl was furious. At this moment, the waiter came over to serve their drinks.
Without a second thought, Pearl grabbed the glass of iced water and splashed it to Adriana.
"Ah!" Everyone in the restaurant looked into their direction.
"Have you insane?"
"Who's the insane one? Me? Or you?" Pearl gritted her teeth, "How could you do such a thing?"
"I...I "
Adriana was about to say something, but when she saw the person approaching standing behind Pearl, her face changed instantly and she cried out, "Richard..."
Pearl turned around in shock. Richard was standing less than half a meter away from her. His face darkened, "Pearl, what the hell are you doing?"
Pearl clenched her fists. She didn't want to defend for herself.
Why did Adriana do that seven years ago? As she wanted nothing but this man.
So, if it wasn't for Richard, there wouldn't have been that accident.
At the thought of this, she clenched her fists even tighter. She felt no pain, only numb all over her body.
After a long while, she asked, "Do you know what Adriana has done?"
"What did she do?" Richard sounded extremely cold. Adriana leaned into his arms, her eyes wet. She looked so pitiful.
"Richard, I only heard that Pearl was having some troubles in her children's schooling so I invited her out to see if I could help her. I have no idea why she did it to me..."
"Don't be afraid." Richard took a tissue from a waiter and wiped the tears on her face while she snuggled in his embrace. He was obviously filled with rage, even without saying anything.
Sniffs and sobs could be heard as if she was spilling out endless grievances in her. But Pearl obviously saw cold light in her eyes.
It was a look of mockery, filled with endless scorn and cold.
She immediately why Adriana invited her here.
Adriana was sure that Pearl wouldn't speak the accident out loud in front of so many people, or telling what had happened to her to Richard.
Richard's gaze seemed to be burning. He was still waiting for her explanation, glaring at her aggressively.
Under such a gaze, Pearl's burning anger seemed to be slowly extinguished by cold water.
But what could she say?
Should she explain to Richard that seven years ago, she was dragged by countless pairs of filthy hands into a dark alley where a heavy downpour ruined her youth forever?
