"I understand," Adriana handed him a cup of tea.
Richard took the teacup and said, "I won't have dinner you tonight. Tomorrow Ted will pick you up at 7 pm."
"Ok."
Seeing that there were still a lot of pending documents on his desk, she then said, "I'll leave you to work, and I'll leave now. Remember to have the soup, or it will get cold."
"Okay."
Richard had always been a man of few words. She had used to feel nothing wrong about it, but the image of Pearl and him being together would always appear in her mind recently.
Was he also silent like this when he was with her?
Definitely not, she guess.
Humans were always greedy. She had felt that she only needed to keep Richard by her side, but now, she couldn't help but want more.
Once she had a man, she wanted all of him, especially his heart.
When she left Richard's office, the secretary, June Lawson, greeted her, "Miss Wood."
Adriana politely nodded and asked, "Miss Lawson, how much time has Mr. Zellweger spent in his office lately?"
"Quite a lot. He almost stays in the company all day recently."
"Oh, okay. I just want you to pay more attention, and remind him to remember to eat on time. He sometimes has stomachache."
"Okay, I got it."
"Then I'll leave now. Sorry to trouble you."
"You're welcome. This is what I should do."
"If Miss Wood saw you rolling your eyes, you'll lose your job." After Adriana left, Ted came out of the pantry with a cup of coffee. He saw his cousin rolling her eyes at the administration desk,
June had quite the shock, but when she saw it was Ted, she was relieved, "I just can't stand fake people. It's obvious that she wants to find out Mr. Zellweger's usual whereabouts, but she just used a lot of excuses."
"Women are just like this, aren't they? Wouldn't you be curious about your boyfriend's whereabouts?"
"But they're going to get married soon. Why is she still so suspicious? What's the point?"
Ted looked at her calmly and asked, "If you could marry the heir of the Zellweger family, but you'll never know the whereabouts of your fiancé. Would you still marry him?"
"Of course."
After replying him without hesitation, June then said confidently, "He's a billionaire. I'm an idiot if I don't."
"Obviously, many people think the same as you."
Including Adriana Wood.
As night fell, two women laid side by side in the VIP room of a beauty salon. Their faces were covered with masks.
"What's up? Are you in a bad mood again?" Adriana's friend, Amy, asked, "Was your dear Mr. Zellweger involved in a scandal again?"
"What kind of scandal does he even have?" Adriana said gloomily.
After leaving Richard's company, she felt very upset, so she invited her bestie to the beauty salon.
"All is good then. Richard owns Zellweger Group now. He could go out to enjoy himself with as many women he wants but there's no scandal at all. You should be happy about this."
"But it doesn't mean that he has no one else in his heart."
