‘I knew he would come looking for me again, just like he did in my last life. Frederick, my second eldest biological brother, was possibly the only one in that dark, crazy, and twisted family who gave me love and warmth then. He always thought of me and gave me gifts. He’d even have heart- to–heart talks with me. He was the reason my hope for the Harvey family rekindled and why I tried so hard to please them, Selena recalled. 

‘But… what Frederick did to me was more cruel than what every other brother did. Because Ashley tricked and framed me, Frederick was utterly disappointed in me. Then, his affection toward me turned into hatred. It was a whiplash,‘ she continued thinking. 

The Harvey family never excused cheating and betrayal, especially not Frederick. Therefore, his great trust for Selina twisted into extreme disappointment. Even when she found evidence to prove her innocence, the Harvey family, who were brainwashed, wouldn’t believe her. They just thought that Selina was the culprit behind all the trouble surrounding them. 

Frederick’s gentle gaze looked the same as it did in her previous life, and Selina couldn’t help but remember how its gentleness turned into piercing coldness. She smiled contemptuously and wondered, ‘If you never believed or trusted me, then why did you approach me? From the beginning, we weren’t the same. In a twisted way, it was fortunate she’d been hurt so much that she didn’t even waver when Frederick appeared. 

Seeing Selina so calm, Frederick raised his eyebrows. “You don’t seem surprised to see me. I suppose you should know who I am.” 

“You’re Frederick, the second son of Harvey Group. You’re the world’s best–selling novelist and Clusia’s only young author to publish abroad and enjoy fame,” Selina replied. 

“It’s a pleasure you know about me, Selina Harvey,” Frederick said. 

“Don’t get me wrong, but I don’t feel the need for incessant rambling. Moreover, I don’t have anything to do with you or the Harvey family, so don’t add the word ‘Harvey‘ behind my name. If you came here to bullshit me, I need the restroom urgently, so get lost,” Selina retorted. 

Saying that, Selina was just about to walk past Frederick and leave when he hurriedly stopped her. “Selina Harvey… Selina, I know you may have had problems with some members of the Harvey family, but it’s unfair for you to treat me like this. I’m your biological brother, and I didn’t do anything to you. On the contrary, I welcome your arrival! You should know that! I called you the first day you returned to the family.” 

“Well, Frederick, let me ask you something. Why would you be meeting me now if I despise the Harvey family? Would it be as a brother or someone wanting to deal with the family enemy? What I did to Joseph, Lloyd, Manuel, and Ashley is evil in your eyes, not to mention Quinton or Sara,” said Selina. 

“I’m your biological brother. No matter what, I can’t watch you keep going down the wrong path. I’m not here to quarrel or to argue about nonsense but to get you back. I want to bring you back to the Harvey family,” Frederick explained earnestly. 

Frederick’s heart ached as he watched Selina’s cold gaze. ‘It’s my fault. I returned too late, so things got to this point. If only I had returned earlier, I might’ve been able to stop this catastrophe and prevent it. If I were back earlier, Selina wouldn’t hate the Harvey family to this extent and wouldn’t cut ties with us,’ he thought regretfully. 

“Bring me back to the Harvey family? Hahaha! That’s funny. Manuel once told me the same. Didn’t your sweet brother ever tell you I’m not interested in being the Harvey family’s precious daughter? Your existence makes me sick! If you don’t want me to beat you up, you have three seconds to disappear. I’m happy today and don’t want trouble,” Selina rebuked. 

Although Frederick was dumb, at the beginning of Selina’s previous life, he truly treated her as his biological sister. Selina wouldn’t forgive the Harvey family, but she wouldn’t let what they did punish her and make her unhappy for a lifetime. Then, her rebirth would be a waste. 

Frederick knew Selina had beaten up Manuel and Lloyd. Since Selina dared to say such words, he knew she dared to do it. Frederick wasn’t sure she’d make an exception for him, so he could only make way. 

When Selina entered the restroom, Frederick shouted again, “I’ll meet you again, Selina. Next time, I’ll bring something you can’t refuse. Tonight is only our first meeting.” 

Selina’s voice floated out of the restroom. “If you dare show up again and speak nonsense like this next time, I’ll beat you up!” 

Frederick pursed his lips and was about to turn when he met a pair of eagle–like, intense, and dangerous eyes. 

Right then, his heart skipped a beat. 

Fortunately, Frederick was worldly. He soon calmed down and faced the other man. “Mr. Brady, long time no see.” 

Trevon spoke coldly. “Instead of being a novelist, you decided to come and harass Selina. Don’t you know she doesn’t welcome you guys?” 

“Mr. Brady, I know your relationship with Selina. I don’t care whether you really love her. As her brother, I genuinely care for her. As her brother, I’ll do my best to win back my lost sister. Don’t you want to see Selina reunite with her family and be happy. Mr. Brady?” Frederick answered. 

“Pfft. You guys? From what she’d told me, she doesn’t care about the Harvey family at all. Instead, you’ve been pestering her after cutting ties. Even though she’s scolded and beaten you guys to drive you away, you stick to her like glue. Remember, she is married to me, Trevon Brady, now. She has my last name. She’s with the Brady family now and has nothing to do with the Harvey family,” Trevon scoffed.
