Chapter 122
Linda had taken the emerald bangle out.
The accident occurred at that moment.
Joanne curled a finger around it, but the bangle dropped onto the floor and cracked into two.
At that moment, William returned.
When he saw that Camellia’s bangle had broken in half and Linda had been the one holding it, he was furious.
No matter how much Linda tried to explain, he refused to believe her.
Linda couldn’t help laughing at the memory of it. “What are you worried about? I’m confident about everything I do.”
She added, “Joanne thinks she can drag me down this way, but she can’t.”
Chloe felt reassured when she saw how confident Linda was.
Linda never declared anything that she wasn’t sure about.
“You still have to be careful, Linda. After all, William is not a good person.”
The company had actually been on the brink of bankruptcy, appearing strong but was weak internally. A
man who could revive a company like that was definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Even though John had injected funds into the company, William needed the skills to reinstate the company’s status so rapidly.
Linda said, “Chloe, I’m not who I used to be. I know what I should do and how this will affect me. I won’t love someone without abandon like I did in the past, nor will I give up everything I have for this person.
When Linda thought about the idiotic things she had done in the past out of her intense love for William, she wished she could go back in time and slap some sense into herself.
Why had she done those things?
Love wasn’t enough to overcome challenges at all!
Chloe suddenly laughed, but there were tears in her eyes.
In their family, Chloe had always been firm in her decisions despite her gentle demeanor.
She had always known what she liked and wanted, deciding to go abroad to Idaly to study.
She had a clear plan for her future and had used the connections her family had given her to make her career a smooth journey.
Chloe had tried to advise Linda about her relationship with William. However, she had just been a child in Linda’s eyes at the time.
Linda had dismissed her by saying that Chloe had read too many novels.
Linda had also been overconfident. She had firmly believed she could soften William’s heart, but she had ended up being hurt.
Linda took Chloe’s hand. “Sometimes I wonder if the result would have been different if I’d listened to your advice or Mom and Dad back then.”
Chapter 122
22
John and Adeline had been supportive of Linda’s love for William.
As parents, they naturally wanted to support their child’s desire to pursue her love.
However, they experienced more things in life and met many different kinds of people. They knew how evil people could be.
They had no wish to see Linda get hurt.
