Chapter 142
Linda attended a dinner with industry professionals in the evening and returned home at 11.30 pm.
Samson was still awake, watching something in the living room.
As Linda got closer, she realized It was her movie,
She went to the kitchen to wash her hands before sitting at the other end of the couch.
“How did you get a copy of the movie?”
Samson pushed a bowl of cherries toward her. “I’m the boss of the company. Isn’t it easy for me to watch a movie we invested in?”
Linda picked up a cherry and popped it into her mouth, Munching, she asked, “So what do you think of my movie then, Mr. Lynch?”
“Amber F’s work is, of course, the best.”
She pulled out her phone. “Stop with the flattery. I cant take it. By the way, will it affect our company if I go for the roadshow?”
Linda had been wanting to discuss this question with Samson for a while, but she never found the time. I don’t think so. You are you. Although you work at the company, your role as the vice president doesn’t conflict with your identity as a director.”
Linda had her concerns, but Samson seemed to understand them before she could voice them.
“You’re worried that appearing in public might affect Lexi’s daily life, right?”
Many eyes would be on Linda once she stepped into the spotlight of the entertainment industry. Lexi wouldn’t be able to live a carefree life as she did now.
“Yes, I’m worried it will affect Lexi. But now that the announcement has been made, I don’t have a choice. other than to accept it.”
The issue was brought up during dinner with some industry professionals earlier.
It made Linda realize she might not have thought things through, especially regarding Lexi.
Samson said, “Don’t you have confidence in me? I can protect our daughter. You have your career to pursue, and I respect that. I don’t want you to give up your job just to protect Lexi.
“Worst case scenario is that even if the media outlets do photograph Lexi, I have the means to ensure she still lives carefreely, don’t I?”
Samson stood up and walked over to Linda to pat her shoulder.
