Linda was treating him like a business partner. 

William was currently in the apartment they shared after marriage 

It was also the place that had the most traces of Linda left behind 

On New Year’s Eve, William had seen a bunch of lights strung up everywhere as decorations. He couldn’t help but think about the firs New Year he and Linda spent together as a married couple. 

Linda had put her heart and soul into decorating the apartment for the holidays. 

William, on the other hand, hadn’t appreciated it. 

Their first New Year as a married couple was an extremely unhappy 

one. 

Their second New Year was spent in the Wilson residence. 

Linda had decorated the mansion just like she had the year before. 

She loved holidays and wanted to spend all of them properly. 

It wasn’t actually about the holidays. She just wanted to spend more 

time with him. 

Sadly, he never understood that back then. 

He had personally destroyed her dreams. 

“Happy New Year,” William said. 

“If that’s all, I’ll be going now. After all, it’s the New Year. I have quite a lot of things to do,” Linda replied. 

Lexi suddenly ran over. 

Mommy, Daddy’s been running around with me for a long time now. Why are you still on the phone? Do you still love me?” 

Her pout was enough to make a grown man cry. 

Linda thought it was time for William to know she had a daughter. 

When William heard a little girl calling Linda “Mommy,” he almost dropped his phone from shock. 

“As you just heard, Mr. Wilson, I don’t have time to chat. My daughter wants to spend time with me. Happy New Year, Mr. Wilson. I wish your 

an amazing year.” 

After that, Linda hung up and walked toward Samson while holding 

Lexi’s hand. 

Back in their apartment, William felt like his heart had stopped from 

shock. 

Linda had a daughter.
