Chapter 166
William took a couple of 100–dollar bills out of his wallet and gave
them to Lexi.
“Happy New Year, Lexi.”
William felt like his heart was breaking in two while he said that.
Lexi politely thanked him when she received the sudden gift.
“Since the two of them are still upstairs, I’ll be leaving now,” he said before turning and leaving.
Even after getting back in his car, all he could think about was Lexi’s striking resemblance to Linda.
It would have been wonderful if she were his child.
Sadly, the child he had with Linda never even got the chance to see the sun in the sky.
Every time those memories resurfaced, he felt like his heart was being torn to shreds.
Lexi held onto the 100–dollar bills as she looked up at Samson.
“Daddy, who was that man? He’s strange.”
Kids didn’t tend to have the vocabulary to fully describe somebody, nor could they fully describe their feelings, so all she could come up. with was “strange“.
Samson picked Lexi up.
“He’s just a rich man. Me’s working together with Daddy and Mommy’s companies.”
He walked downstairs with Lexi in his arms and entered the car, waiting for Linda and Chloe to come down.
Lexi’s sharp eyes immediately noticed William sitting in the Mayt parked next to them.
“Daddy! That man who just gave me money hasn’t left yet. Is he waiting for us?”
As she spoke, she even pointed at the car next to them.
Samson replied, “He might still be busy with things here. It does have anything to do with us, so let’s not care about him.”
Lexi blinked slowly. “Daddy, I’m feeling sleepy.”
“Just hold on for another moment, Lexi. Mommy can carry you wh she comes downstairs with Aunt Chloe.”
Lexi nodded.
