Chapter 174
“What happened?” Samson asked.
“She said we didn’t spend enough time with her. Other parents can spend a lot of time with their kids, so why can’t her parents?” Linda explained.
“What did you tell her?”
Linda turned the question on Samson. “What do you think I told her?”
“You definitely tried to talk sense into her, but she didn’t understand.”
Samson knew Linda well.
“I’ve always been helpless with kids.
“Actually, I’ve been thinking about trying to cut down on my working hours so I can spend more time with the kid.”
Samson truly liked Lexi.
Even though James had been helping to watch over Lexi for the past few years, Samson still cared about Lexi a lot.
“I don’t think you have to. If we spend every waking second with Lexi, she can’t truly grow up. That’s not a good thing for either of us or her,”
Linda said.
Samson rebutted, “She has to grow up either way, whether or not
we’re around to witness it.”
Linda had rather unique views on educating kids. Her opinions were usually the complete opposite of Samson’s.
Linda thought they shouldn’t coddle the children, whether boys or girls. It wouldn’t be good for the child or the parents.
Samson, on the other hand, thought girls needed to be coddled and
pampered.
The two of them usually ended up disagreeing on how to educate Lexi, but Linda usually won in the end.
“Linda, our daughter can have whatever she wants. She doesn’t hav to work so hard.”
“Samson, she will become spoiled if we coddle her. We can’t possibl be with her forever. If she never learns anything, are we supposed to spend our entire lives pampering her?”
“That’s not impossible,” Samson said with a chuckle.
“Mr. Lynch, something’s come up,” his secretary, who had followed him outstation, suddenly said.
“Linda, I need to tend to something here. I need to go now, but I’ll call
you soon.”
After that, he hung up before Linda could reply.
“What is it?”
“Someone took pictures of you; Ms. Felix, and Ms. Lexi when the three of you went out the day after New Year. Those pictures are all over the Internet now. People are already starting to guess about your relationship.”
The secretary showed Samson the photos on the phone..
The media outlet that posted them had blurred out Lexi’s face.
