Linda also picked the cast firmly based on the script and suitability. 

For that, she was unlike many other famous directors in the country. who only cared about the actors‘ fame and popularity. All they cared about was whether these actors could bring a wider audience to their movie, not whether they could actually act. 

Linda had confidence in the popularity of the movie itself. She was also very clear about where her skills stood. 

She would boldly use rookies in her cast, some of which might have never even stepped foot into the movie industry before. 

Compared to purely popular actors, Linda favored those with talent and skill but hadn’t found their moment in the limelight yet. 

To those actors, Linda was their savior. 

They were practically guaranteed many more roles and offers from other directors after acting in one of her movies. 

“These are some good rookies I’ve found in the past year whose information I’ve organized. You can take a look, and if any of them catch your eye, I’ll get the company to contact them.” Lina was very supportive of Linda’s aims. 

“I would still like to use a whole new cast this time,” Linda told Lina. 

Lina paused and thought about it for a moment. “What if we do an open audition?” 

Linda had thought about holding open auditions before. 

“I’ve thought about that before, but I don’t want people to get triggered. After all, if I hold open auditions, plenty of popular actors will show up. If the final cast contains none of them, then their fans. 

are going to roast me on a spit.” 

Younger fans were always extremely gung–ho and willing to pillage a small town for the sake of their idols. That wasn’t a rare sight. 

“Didn’t you once tell me about that fan who went crazy defending her idol on social media? You said you even felt bad because of the sheer extent of the nonsense she was spouting,” Linda said. 

Lina let out a sigh. “All I can say is that kids nowadays are starting to use social media way too soon. They can’t differentiate between at good or bad person. All they know is that this person is attractive, so they must be a saint. They feel like everything bad that happens to their idols is always someone else’s fault.” 

Linda shrugged. 

“To be honest, as a director, all I want to see is the actors giving their best onscreen. I want them to bring the screenwriters‘ characters to life from a page. I don’t care whether they’re popular or not as long as they can give me the effect I want. Even if the movie ends up not even earning a single cent, I won’t be bothered.” 

She had started filming movies in order to show the stories she wanted to portray. 

Many directors had the same dream as her when they first started out. 

However, the world of entertainment was full of temptation. 

The moment one’s movie began to gain attention, all that attention could get to the director’s head. 

Slowly, they strayed away from wanting to portray good stories. 

They began chasing after achievements and whatever they could squeeze out of the movie, whether it was prizes or making a name for themselves in various different events.
