Chapter 189
From every level of the movie, a change in location could also
represent a character’s change of mindset and how much they went through to achieve it.
It was also the first time Linda attempted to portray such a character, so different locations could more easily depict different moods.
“Based on everyone’s answers, I’m gathering that we can use this village for the beginning of the movie when our main character first starts to have dreams about becoming a designer, right?” Linda asked, looking at all the screenwriters.
She had met that group of screenwriters when she was in Usna. They were a bunch of hardworking, passionate young men and women who had been stuck in a rut after failing to come across anyone who could see their talent.
She didn’t want to see genuinely talented people wasting their efforts, so she paid them a large amount to work for her.
The last two successful movies also boosted their confidence.
If Linda’s skills were half of what made a successful movie happen, then the script was the other half.
“If we follow the script, that would be the most ideal. However, we haven’t confirmed who the main character will be played by. If we’re talking about location, we might have to make some adjustments based on who we choose for the main character.”
They had always hoped for a perfect harmony between their filming location and the main cast.
Some places were beautiful, but they simply did not match up to the cast, which would greatly reduce the impact that the movie could
have.
“Well, as for the cast, I’ve been doing quite a bit of scouting. As you all know, I’ve always been using new actors. The majority of our
investor’s money has gone into editing and location scouting. Someone suggested using more popular actors this time or perhaps an open audition to promote our movie before it’s even released.”
The moment Linda said that, all of the screenwriters began to
disagree.
“Ms. Felix, as your staff members, we definitely respect your ideas. However, if it comes down to hiring popular actors, we will have to politely disagree.”
The lead screenwriter had been silent, but she couldn’t hold back the moment she heard the words “popular actor“.
“Ms. Felix, I agree with many things you said. I think you have a unique taste, but if you end up hiring actors just for their popularity this time, we won’t be able to work together on this project.
“I don’t want the fans of those actors to destroy the script we worked so hard to put together. Besides, you don’t have to worry about box. office results anymore. Why take that risk?” she said.
“Before I went to Usna, I wrote a lot of scripts here in this country. Every one of them ended up being unsatisfactory because the directors never understood what I wanted to portray. All they wanted. was the popularity that those actors could bring.
“We’re willing to work with you because you don’t care about those. things. You care more about whether the actors can bring the characters to life.”
Linda completely understood why they were so against it.
“It’s just a suggestion. Don’t worry. We might not end up going. through with it. I know you guys don’t like it, and I might not like it
either. After all, I prioritize whether they can give me the effect I want. to see.”
The meeting only ended at night.
When Linda reached home, Lexi and Samson were watching cartoons in the living room.
