Chapter 204
Linda only promised not to send the photos to Charlie’s wife, but she never agreed to drop the lawsuit.
This matter had to be resolved as a warning to others to keep those unscrupulous media companies from targeting them again.
As expected, Charlie called her when CJ Media received the lawyer’s letter.
“Linda, what’s the meaning of this? Didn’t we agree that we would forget about this matter once I hand over the production team to you?”
Linda sat on the couch in her office with a steaming cup of freshly
brewed Americano.
Linda replied, “Mr. Jenkins, you’re twisting my words. I never said that this issue would disappear once you gave me the production team. What I said was that I won’t leak the pictures.
“I never promised to overlook the fact that your company exposed Lexi’s photos. I clarified that crossing my line would have consequences, and I intend to pursue this to the end.”
“Isn’t it bad for a business person like you to be untrustworthy?”
Charlie asked.
“Mr. Jenkins, I never claimed to be a good person,” came her reply.
Being a good person only made things harder.
“Linda, aren’t you afraid I might do something reckless?” Charlie questioned.
“I actually look forward to it.”
At that, she ended the call.
When lunchtime came, Linda rushed back to the villa.
Today, Lina swung by to cook.
It was something Linda used to do five years ago. Back then, she had spent over a year learning how to cook, just to make William happy and ensure he ate well.
After resting for a year in Usna, she had forgotten most of what she had learned, and her hand injury no longer allowed her to cook.
By the time Linda arrived, she discovered that Lexi was missing.
“Ms. Flores, where is Lexi?” Linda questioned.
Ava wiped her hands. “Mr. Wilson and Mr. Lynch just took Lexi out.”
“Mr. Wilson? You mean William?” Linda asked.
Ava nodded in reply.
Just as Linda was about to call Samson to find out what was
happening, she heard Lexi’s voice. “Mommy. Mommy, I’m here!”
“Why didn’t you tell me before you went out to play?” Linda asked.
“Because it was a sudden idea,” Lexi replied.
Samson had taken a few days off from work and said he had
some matters to handle. Linda hadn’t realized he was at home.
