Chapter 205
The nanny walked in and announced that it was time to eat.
William quickly grabbed Lexi and carried her to the kitchen to wash her hands. Samson didn’t care because he would always be Lexi’s
father.
“What’s going on? I just stepped out for work, and now everything is like this,” Linda wondered. Her mind raced with questions.
Wasn’t William previously not fond of children? Why was he now so close to Lexi?
“When I got home this afternoon, William’s car was parked outside, and he mentioned discussing a collaboration,” Samson replied.
“What kind of collaboration?” Linda asked.
“He’s willing to offer several key projects from the Wilson Group to Lynch Group and Felix Group as a gift for Lexi,” Samson said.
“Why a gift for Lexi?” Linda’s confusion deepened.
William had previously given her the original shares of the Wilson Group, which she still held.
Now, he was offering key projects. It would be difficult to explain this in the future, regardless of the circumstances, as Linda and William would have to meet again.
Every project felt like a favor for William.
Business people might be cold–blooded, but they were also the most loyal. Once someone helped them, they would return the favor even if they were in a precarious position.
Linda didn’t want much interaction between herself, Samson, and William. They already had a better life, and moving forward was
William’s best course of action.
“He said he wants to be Lexi’s godfather. I thought about it, and it wouldn’t hurt to have one more person who loves and protects her, “Samson cut off before she could voice her objection.
“We don’t have the same influence as him in Osmo. While we can protect our child, having another person > help isn’t a bad idea. Both you and I want Lexi to grow up healthy and safe. With William involved, she’ll be even more protected,” Samson said.
“A godfather isn’t a biological father, and he won’t live with us. Our contact with him would be limited, and as Lexi grows older, we can gradually distance ourselves. This situation benefits us in every way,” he continued.
Linda understood everything Samson said, but it didn’t change how
she felt.
She no longer had the courage she had five years ago, and she was not the person who would sacrifice everything for someone
else.
After finally escaping that failed marriage, the idea of reconnecting with William, who had brought her so much disappointment, made her uncomfortable.
However, Linda knew she and Samson alone couldn’t guarantee Lexi’s safe and healthy upbringing without mishaps. Having William involved was the best decision.
