Chapter 207
With the micro movie’s short runtime, the script didn’t need to be
extensive.
The writing team delivered the first draft within about a week. Linda reviewed it and added her creative touch and suggestions.
After about two weeks of fine–tuning, the script was finalized.
Thanks to the company’s support, securing locations was hassle- free. The filming could begin as long as Linda showed up on set.
During this period, Lexi fell ill. It was likely due to the drastic temperature changes between spring and summer.
When Lexi got sick, she became incredibly clingy, so Linda had to keep her close.
On set, Lexi, a little girl resembling a doll, followed Linda around and captured the crew’s hearts. She was well–behaved, sitting quietly with her toys and watching her mom work without causing any disruptions.
Wendy also came along to help care for Lexi. “Lexi, just tell me if you feel unwell or need anything, okay?”
Lexi nodded. “I understand. I’ll be good and won’t disturb Mommy’s work.”
“You’re the best little girl in the world,” Wendy praised. Then, Lexi kissed Wendy on the cheek.
Time passed quickly. The production team had a night scene to shoot, so Linda wouldn’t be heading home early.
Wendy had already returned to the office to handle some matters.
leaving Linda in a dilemma with Lexi.
Linda handed her phone to Lexi. “Lexi, send a message to the chat group. We’ll see if your dad or godfather can pick you up.”
“Mommy, aren’t you coming home with me?” Lexi asked with her tiny face full of concern.
Linda gently stroked her soft cheek. “I have to stay late tonight, so you’ll need to go home first.”
“Alright,” Lexi agreed. Her chubby little fingers pressed the button to record a voice message. Soon, a voice clip was sent to the
group:
Lexi: “Daddy, godfather, this is Lexi. Mommy won’t be coming home early tonight. Can one of you pick me up after work?”
William: “Are you still on set or somewhere else?”
Samson: “Be a good girl, Lexi. Daddy’s coming to get you now.”
These two men, who rarely used voice messages, started doing so
to accommodate Lexi.
