Chapter 21 

After Samson left the hotel, Chloe came to Linda’s room. The two sisters lay on the bed, chatting casually. 

“Linda, can you really let it go?” Chloe was no longer a little girl and understood more now. 

Linda puiled the blanket tighter around herself. “I can let it go. It’s just a matter of time.” 

“Linda, think about everything he did to you four years ago and your six–month stay in the hospital in Usna. 

Those unbearable, painful memories surged into Linda’s mind as soon as Chloe mentioned them. It made her feel miserable. 

Chloe knew how difficult it was for Linda to let go of a man she once loved deeply. What was more was that this was someone she had known since childhood. 

“Linda, just like Mom and Dad, I respect all your decisions. When you wanted to help William, we supported you. Then, when you wanted to leave after getting hurt, we respected and supported you, too.

“When all this is over, why don’t you both let go of Lexi and try being together?” 

Linda sighed. “Chloe, if there was a real possibility between me and Samson, maybe I wouldn’t have been so obsessed with William back then.” 

The reason Samson could earn/Linda’s trust was because of his lack of romantic intentions toward her. 

Chloe said no more. Hugging Linda’s arm, she drifted off to sleep. 

The next morning, when Linda woke up, Chloe was still sleeping. Not wanting to disturb her, Linda went to 

the bathroom in the other room to wash up.
