Of course, Lina remembered to bring the bottle of soda with her. 

Linda didn’t want to let Lina down and personally delivered the document to the PR department. Taylor Jennings, the head of the department, saw the document and instantly knew Lina’s intentions. 

After all, the talent agent and the PR manager understood each other the most. With just a glance, they knew how to proceed with a matter. 

“Don’t worry, Ms. Felix. We know what to do next. Leave the rest to us and contact me if you have any questions. Of course, I know you’re more likely to seek Lina.”

Linda was unperturbed by the ordeal caused by Victor. Allowing an insignificant person to affect one’s emotions was the most foolish act of all. 

It was late when she got off work. There had been a major traffic accident on her route home, resulting in a temporary road closure. Thus, she had to take a detour and ended up passing by the back street of her high school. 

It was still as lively as ever. 

In the end, she decided to stop there for a bite. 

As she sat on a small stool awaiting her food, the scenery of passing high school students carrying their books and backpacks brought her back to when she was their age. She wondered whether things might have turned out differently if she had been more clear–headed back then. 

Back in high school, she told John and Adeline she would marry William one day. They relentlessly advised her to take things slow as she was then in the prime of her youth and had many years ahead to think about marriage. 

During those years, she would meet an even better man than William and wouldn’t have to cling to him anymore. 

Yet, at that time, Linda’s mind was set in stone. Just like her mother, she wouldn’t give up or admit defeat until the last moment once she set her mind on a matter or person. Linda desperately wanted William. She did everything she could, including risking her life, to win his heart, yet the outcome was undesirable. However, that was all in the past. There was no point in reminiscing about it. 

Linda didn’t want to be stuck in a loop of unhappy memories. The heartbreak she suffered from that failed marriage had caused her enough emotional wounds to her soul. 

No matter how hard she tried to fix her broken heart, the result remained disheartening. Perhaps that was fate. All she could do was wake up and make the right choice every day Whatever happened next was up to the work of destiny.
