“After a whole night of brainstorming, my team and I settled on a different approach. I’m just not sure what you’d think about it, though.” 

While handling the documents, Linda replied, “Brief me on your new solution, then. I’ll definitely cooperate if it’s something manageable.” 

If it wasn’t manageable, she wouldn’t force herself to agree, even if they were ex–classmates. That was the part left unsaid, but Jessie understood it. Jessie continued, “If I remember correctly, your ex–husband is the godfather to your child, right? What do you say if we let William take over whenever Samson is absent?” At that suggestion, Linda was dumbfounded. “Are you aware of what you’re saying, Jessie?” 

A father and godfather taking turns to show up on a variety show for her daughter… Indeed, that would create the buzz, but that was simply ridiculous. Moreover, Linda lacked the confidence that she could summon William to appear on a variety show. 

Regardless, this was a ridiculous idea. 

“I know this sounds crazy, perhaps even unhinged, but isn’t that the point of a variety show? The four of you are my biggest selling point for now. Would you please help me out and give me some clout?” 

Jessie and her team had considered how absurd this would sound to Linda. However, that was the best solution they had come up with. Linda couldn’t possibly be the single mom on the show while other cast members consisted of a family of three, right? 

“Also, think about this–your company can invest in this project, and you can earn profits once the show goes viral! Besides, I exceptionally need the traffic you pull to this show. It’d be beneficial for you and your micro movie too, considering the need to promote your current and future projects as well. 

“The premiere will likely be next year. I can help boost the popularity of your movie by aligning our release times. That way, it’ll be a win–win situation. Trust me. I won’t let you be the one sacrificing on the losing end.” 

Linda easily understood what Jessie was trying to convey. Ultimately, it was all about buzz and garnering attention. Whether it was Jessie or Linda, they couldn’t deny they needed that to boost their work. 

In this day and age, it was clear that talk reigned supreme. Anyone with existing large followers could do anything and attract considerable attention, which translated into money. Nobody would turn down the opportunity to make money, and Linda had never considered herself too noble to participate in this system. 

“I can’t guarantee to get William on the show, though.” Linda wasn’t the best person to learn about William. Although she didn’t harbor the same resentment toward him as she used to, she refused to initiate the talk. 

“Him willing to be Lexi’s godfather means he adores her. Why don’t you tell Lexi to help you, and I’ll send her a huge thank–you gift after that?” 

Linda was more than speechless at that point. 

Indeed, William wouldn’t have been Lexi’s godfather if he didn’t like her. Due to Linda and Samson’s hectic schedules, William had been visiting Lexi and keeping her company. He indulged her with all of her unreasonable requests without complaining once.
