Samson was in charge of putting Lexi to bed that night, so Linda didn’t get involved.

The next morning, Linda received a call from Wendy, saying there was an issue with a project that required her immediate attention.
Without even having breakfast, Linda grabbed her things and left.
“Daddy, why is Mommy in such a hurry?” Lexi asked as she watched Linda rush out. Her little head was full of questions.
“Mommy has some work to take care of, so she’s in a rush. But don’t worry, I’ll stay home with you and take you to the office to play with the pretty ladies, okay?” Samson soothed Lexi while feeding her breakfast.
“But will Mommy come back today?” Lexi asked.
“I’m not sure yet. I’ll wait for her to message me, and then I’ll let you know, okay?” Samson replied.
Lexi understood that Linda wouldn’t be so hurried without a reason. It was probably something urgent. As a good and obedient child, she knew not to disturb Linda’s work. “Okay, I’ll go with you to the office. If Mommy calls, make sure to tell me right away. I’ll miss Mommy,” Lexi said.
“Alright. You’re coming to the office with me.”
After breakfast, Samson took Lexi to the office.
They occasionally brought her to work since they had stopped deliberately keeping Lexi out of the public eye. The office staff loved her, often buying her snacks and toys, so she enjoyed her time at the office. The ladies in the office all said Lexi looked like an angel.
“Why did you bring Lexi here?”
When Lina came to report to Samson, she was surprised to see several ladies playing with Lexi at the office door.
“There’s some issue with Linda’s project, so she had to leave for a business trip this morning. Lexi saw her leave in a rush but didn’t know why, so I brought her here.”
Lina was aware of the situation. “It’s actually not a big deal. There was an issue with the project management, and there was no one suitable to manage the company’s internal
staff.
“That’s why Linda had to go and oversee things. Things can get chaotic without someone authoritative in a company.”
Samson raised an eyebrow. “It’s like you’re all–knowing. It’s not surprising that you know about things in the entertainment industry, but how do you know about everything else, too? Do you have people planted in every corner?”
Lina laughed and rolled her eyes. “First of all, I appreciate your confidence in me. If I really had the ability to place people everywhere, I wouldn’t be living on your modest salary. I’d be rich by now.
