“Lexi, can you go find your dad with the ladies out there? I need to call your mom first. If she agrees, then your Uncle William will agree, too,” Lina told Lexi. Lexi nodded and followed the other assistants up to the office to find Samson.

On her way back, Linda received a call from Lina. 

“So, what William is saying is that whether this goes through depends entirely on me. If I agree to meet him, then there’s a chance, and if I don’t, then it’s off.” Lina didn’t deny it. The reality was that William made all the requests just to meet Linda. 

“I still have some work to finish up here. Tell him that I agree to the meeting, but the timing is up to me. If he can accept that, we’ll meet, and if not, then we won’t. “As for the show, whether I participate doesn’t matter much. I have other ways to gain publicity,” Linda said. 

Lina responded, “Honestly, I think some publicity should be leveraged. After all, a douchebag like William can bring you attention. Why not use that to your advantage? “Although it may not be the best approach, from a business perspective, as long as it helps us gain something, it’s worth it.” 

Lina was truly a selfish person. Of course, “selfish” was never inherently a negative term. 

“I know. But some things are hard to explain. You haven’t gone through what I have, so you can’t really understand. In this story, I hope to stay true to myself, but I also hope to get something out of him. I feel like he owes me,” Linda confessed. 

Linda understood William’s mindset all too well.

Linda agreed. “I’m leaving this decision to you. I’ve shared my thoughts, so you just need to pass them along. If he’s okay with it, then we proceed as planned. If not, it’s fine. I’m not dependent on William for survival.”
