Chapter 245
Wendy shook her head. “Lina has been dealing with a lot recently and hasn’t recruited any new actors. One of the male actors she manages had some issues on set, and she’s been busy handling that.”
“Let me know when she’s available to come see me. I have something to discuss with her,” Linda instructed, and Wendy agreed.
After lunch, Linda drove directly to Osmo Prison. She was somewhat eager to meet Ida.
During her four–year marriage to William, she endured various forms of bullying from Ida. If she hadn’t been so deeply in love at the time, she might have fought back with her pampered personality.
But her love was so profound that she tried to make everyone around William like her, only to realize that such behavior was foolish. In fact, even fools would disdain such actions. She had been foolish for four years. Fortunately, the catastrophic event eventually woke her up.
The prison official came out to meet Linda. “Hi, Ms. Felix.”
“Hello. Please take me to see her,” Linda replied.
The official opened a door and led her inside. The surroundings were very quiet, with heavy iron bars everywhere. The area was dimly lit by a few small windows, creating a gloomy atmosphere.
Linda felt a distinct discomfort. She wondered how someone as pampered as Ida could endure such an environment for so long.
Noticing Linda’s unease, the official said, “Ms. Felix, this is just how the environment is here, unfortunately.”
Linda responded, “It’s only right for those who have done wrong to face punishment.”
The official smiled and led Linda into a meeting room separated by a glass partition.
Ida was already seated on the other side. She wore a prison uniform and appeared gaunt, her once arrogant demeanor replaced by a more subdued appearance.
