Chapter 253
A week later, Samson could finally join Linda and Lexi for their trip after wrapping up his work Lexi, who had been cooped up, was ecstatic about the outing, bouncing around the house with excitement.
Linda looked at Samson with concem. “I’m really worried about how hyper she’ll be when we’re on the road trip.”
“It’s good for her to be energetic, Samson said since he appreciated Lexi’s lively spirit. “I met a business partner yesterday whose child is autistic and has been completely withdrawn at 12 years old. He hardly speaks and keeps to himself.”
“Lexi can be a bit mischievous, but she’s still a normal child,” Linda remarked. She was grateful that Lexi’s development seemed so healthy compared to children with inherent challenges.
Early the next morning, the family of three loaded their luggage into the cat and set off. Since Linda and Samson both drove sports cars, they opted to use Simon’s Maybach for comfort, which was better suited for traveling with a child
Even though Lexi was three years old, Linda insisted she use a child seat for salety. Thankfully, Lexi complied without fuss.
“Are you happy that Mommy and are taking you out?” Samson asked while driving as Linda handled some work tasks in the backseat.
Lexi held a lollipop, which Zoey had bought for her that morning on a grocery run. She replied, “I’m happy to be with Mommy and Daddy, and even happier to go out with you.” Linda poked her little nose playfully. “You little charmer, always sweet–talking us.”
“Our baby is growing up and knows how to make us happy,” Samson said with satisfaction.
Linda couldn’t help but smile at how much of a softie Samson was with Lexi,
The road trip was planned for cities near Osmo due to the one–week timeframe and Lexi’s age, which wasn’t suited for long journeys. They stopped at a resort area, and Linda suggested they check it out for potential film locations.
“This place might have some spots that could work for my movie,” she said.
Samson didn’t mind. He was only there to be the chauffeur, anyway
As they arrived at the resort and parked their car, Linda and Lexi headed inside only to run into William.
“Uncle William!” Lexi was the most excited of the three as she genuinely liked William.
“Are you here for a vacation? William asked, neeling to talk to Lexi
“Yes. Mommy and Daddy brought me here,” Lexi said, hugging William’s neck. “Are you here to play, too?
“No, I’m not. I’m just passing through on my way from work,” William explained.
