Chapter 283 

“What’s wrong?” 

“Are you going out? Lexi tilted her head. 

“Yes, I have to go on a business trip for about two weeks.” Linda sat Lexi on her lap. “When I come back, I’ll bring you a gift, just like Aunt Chloe does when she goes out. I’ll bring back lots of gills for you“. 

Since Linda often traveled to other cities and would bring back interesting things for Lexi, she had learned what a business trip meant over time: 

“Can I come with you?” Lexi was becoming increasingly dependent on Linda and didn’t want to be out of her sight as long as Linda was around. Last night, she had refused to go to sleep, saying she wanted to wait for Linda to come back 

“But sweetheart, my trip this time is a bit complicated, and I might not be able to take you along.” 

This trip’s purpose was to scout film locations, and the places would be quite remote. It would be fine to bring Lexi if it was a normal event, as Wendy could look after her 

But this time, Linda was going with her company’s team, and Wendy had to stay at the company to handle other work. And, even though she was YK Media’s vice president, she didn’t trust people outside her own company. 

Her own team was more proficient in the film industry than YK Media’s team, and they were more familiar with the various aspects due to their long–term cooperation. “But I’ll miss you” Lexi clung tightly to her neck. 

“Ewill call you and Daddyron video chat whenever I can, okay?” 

Lexi hang her head and refused to speak. 

Linda and Samson took his soothing her for quite a while before she calmed down. 

The day before leaving for Springvale, Lina came to their house. 

“These are some basic details about the area, and I had my assistant organize them last night.” She coughed a few times while speaking, looking quite tired. “Are you sick?” Linda asked as she took the folder. 

“It’s probably just the flu.” Lina’s immune system wasn’t very strong, especially after returning from Usna and adjusting to the local environment. 

*Do you have a fever? Linda asked again, 

“Don’t worry about me. I’m an adult, so I can take care of myself” 

She coughed again as Samson came out from the kitchen with a glass of water and handed it to her 

“I’ve informed my friend in Springvale that you’re coming. Although I know you’re bringing your team, it would be better to have someone familiar with the area show you around 

“My friend is someone I’ve known since high school, and we’ve kept in touch all these years. He’ll guide you while you’re there.”
