Chapter 285
When Linda woke up again, she found herself in a remote, pitch–dark place with a musty smell. It seemed like an abandoned location, possibly a factory on the city’s outskirts. She tried to speak but found that her mouth was taped shut. The only source of light was a small window above her head, letting in a sliver of brightness.
She didn’t panic. Having escaped death before, she remained calm in the face of the unknown.
She believed that no one would dare to actually harm her and that they were most likely after money. If money could solve the problem, it wasn’t a big issue.
Just then, a man entered the room, bringing a bit more light with him. Linda seized the moment to catch a glimpse of the surroundings. There was a lush bamboo forest outside. she confirmed that the factory was on the city’s outskirts
She didn’t recognize the man who entered, possibly because she hadn’t seen him in years or he was someone she knew from the past but had forgotten.
To gather more information, she pretended to be unconscious. It wasn’t long before another man pushed open the factory door.
*Hector, do you think if Samson and the others come after us, we’ll
From the voice, it was clear that the person was young. This was his first time doing something like this, and there was a hint of nervousness.
The man who had entered first spoke with anger and reproach, “We’re far away. It would take a three–hour flight from Osimo to reach here. What can they do?
*Don’t forget that if it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t be living in such poverty. I said from the beginning that you shouldn’t have joined if you were afraid. But you chose to join, so you have to take responsibility for every word you say ”
The younger man seemed disheartened, acknowledging that he was the one who had insisted on going.
“If Linda didn’t return suddenly, we wouldn’t be in this situation. Those things should have been ours, but they were snatched away.” The man’s frustration grew
“For years, I’ve been working for Lucy, hoping to gain something from her. I know what kind of person she is–she’s willing to do anything for her maternal family.
“We’ve already received so much from her. If it weren’t for Linda’s sudden return, everything we had in our grasp would have been ours.
“Why couldn’t Linda have died in that fire? If she had, there wouldn’t be so many problems. Everything from Felix Group would have ended up in our hands.
